Random acts of kindness: I just wanted to take a few moments to tell ATopians how special and wonderful you are. Those who meticulously find and post news, videos and pictures. Those who respond when I am looking for some obscure Adam mention or clip and miraculously post it minutes later. Those who gently monitor the threads to make sure we are all playing nicely with one another. All those who DO play nicely with one another. The wealth of knowledge about diverse topics. The artistic talents. The snarky and hilarious senses of humor. The care and concerns expressed when a member goes missing, or shares a difficult time with the forum. The birthday wishes which make me feel special and remembered. All those are examples of why I love coming to read ATop. But, it goes further than that. Members reach out to one another in REAL life. (I saw my first and only Adam live concert due to the encouragement of AToppers and the generosity of one who gave me a ticket.) Sharing tickets, rides, hotel rooms and experiences is common among AToppers. Personal messages, emails and phone calls have enriched my life. A member just generously agreed to share her art with me. Another sent me a gift from her country, just to say she cared. Just recently a member unbelievably agreed to help me out with a HUGE favor requiring a lot of her time, energy and inconvenience. I was desperate for help, but it seemed too much to ask. I finally did, tentatively, and she responded immediately and positively. (I won't embarrass you by mentioning your name, but, I am more grateful to you than I can possibly express.) Thanks to each and every one of you for making ATop such a special place and being so wonderful and special to me! How is this related to Adam? Without him, none of this would ever have happened. What an inspiration. Oh, and he can SANG! CASSIE! I love to read your music essays!YES! Cassie's music essays are the best!

I received my tickets to Atlantic City. I have the best seats, Section 104, Row BB, Seats 3 and 4. I will be able to watch Adam walk that runway. I am so excited. My heart is beating from excitement. Lord, let me live until July 26. I have my earplugs for both of us and even my dear husband can't wait to go. I think we both realize there is something historical about this tour, and we both want to be part of that history. Boardwalk Hall looks amazing. We were there several years ago when they started building it. Looking forward to seeing that building in person. You made me laugh out loud.. You'll make it for sure.. So exciting.I can't wait to hear all about your adventure. We are just going with son and daughter-in-law to one performance at Merriweather. I'm dying to do Atlantic City, but it would mean coming home from Maryland and then flying out a few days later..and leaving our dogs too long. : I will live vicariously through you... gosh you may be able to reach out and touch Adam...WOW

And for those, who are considering Atlantic City, a few touristic aspects. AC itself is a casino town. Beach, then boardwalk, then casino/ mega-hotels/etc., then park houses, and there the concrete jungle begins. So tourists will mostly stay within a block or two from boardwalk. Btw, the Monopoly streets are named after Atlantic City streets, and Boardwalk has its price.
But both to the north as well as the south of AC, the beautiful beaches continue, Ocean City is true to its name, an ocean resort kind of town (away from the highrises of AC) and to the north of AC is Brigantine Island, which is a delightful get away from it all island (access via bridge). There is no fast food and no major chains, just mom and pop restaurants, and everything is totally laid back. The beaches are white and even in July not crowded. Great place for kids, still affordable, the hotels are of the older variety, but those on the east side of the island are often right on the beach. West side is canal mostly for folks who need boat slips - so no beach.
So, for those who think about making this a late July vacation, I was there last year, right around that time, when the concert will be this year, and while it was very hot, as to be expected at that time, otherwise, it was delightful to have both a get-away vacation, but also be able to enjoy a show or event in AC with just a 20 minute drive.
Having said that, I do think that AC is going to sell out, when people who are locally in town for that week, look for things to do while they are there. There are going to be a lot of non-typical folks there (neither Glambert - nor Queen fans) in that audience, I suspect. I really hope, it will be full, the venue looks great.

Hey Kamar -- good to see you! I've been wondering about you and Lady Maserati lately. As Cassie said in her wonderful post today, what a nice community we have here. It's funny to think that in the wee hours of the night when I can't sleep, I'm thinking about people I have never, ever actually met and wondering how they are!!! And yes, it is a slow day, but that's okay as I think of it as the lull before the storm!
