You know, I totally get this dilemma. It IS conspicuous consumption, especially compared to my life. But my life is conspicuous consumption compared to people with no home, or no clean drinking water, kind of like this:  I think of this whenever I throw food away, turn on the tap water, am warm on a cold night. I totally get it, it is hard to think of myself as a conspicuous consumer, but I would be to many many people around the world, or even here in my own country (US). I think most of us spend to the level that we can. Love a good quote and this is a good one. Thank you. |
