Good morning. I asked this question a few days ago and I was just wondering if anyone has any idea why Adam wasn't nominated for best guest star on Glee. His MTN was 'kick-ass' amazing as was his whole time on Glee. Glee fans embraced his character and wanted more of him this season and next season. I'm just not understanding this. FOX nominated actors who they believe have the best chance of getting a nomination. So what fans think does not matter. The Television Academy has a history of nominating Movie stars, Stage stars and big TV stars for the Guest Performer categories... Here is last year's best guest actress and actor in a Drama www.emmys.com/awards/nominees-winners?field_nominations_year_value[value]&field_nomination_category_tid=All&&page=0%2C1and in a Comedy: www.emmys.com/awards/nominees-winners/2013?field_nominations_year_value[value]=&field_nomination_category_tid=All&&page=0%2C3One exception to the above statement last year was Justin Timberlake. ** I believe that Adam would qualify for a nomination, but I think he would be very unlikely to get on even if a Glee guest star got one which is also unlikely. But generally, recurring guest stars are not nominated. There are exceptions. According to Emmy’s rulebook, “Comedy/Drama series guest performers with ‘guest star’ billing, or who are contracted as such, are eligible in the guest performer categories without regard to the number of episodes he/she appeared in.” The definition was originally limited to a single episode but was later expanded to three episodes and eventually the limit on the number of episodes was lifted altogether. I am on the "NO to Peter Pan" team for sure! Also, they will go for some huge name anyway (like Beibs, or one of the 1D boys, or whomever ...) I am sure singing ability is not a priority anyway... Chris C. would be a great choice, fits like a glove IMO! Chris has done two theater productions -- 1. He was in one musical in high school and 2. In March 2012, Colfer was featured in a performance of Dustin Lance Black's play, '8' (not a musical). He has been on Glee for 5 years. He is not a live performer. And there is NO NO NO chance he could do the role nor would NBC hire him. He is, however, an excellent writer and has does some excellent work. He is far more likely to write a musical than star in one. ** I knew when I posted my wack idea that it would not get support but take a look at how Peter Pan is being played now -- when it is being played by men. Not children's theater, the musical production. This is Peter Pan 2014.... They have sold 100,000 tickets to this production all over the world. And is that really so far from this?

It was the green hair that got you going on this idea, Q3 wasn't it?

Adam is too young to play Captain Hook who is 40-50's and is also Mr. Darling. The part has no great songs. Adam is 32 and looks like he is 25. Having him play the father of the Darling children and play the Captain would not work. Peter Pan has many dual roles -- that is a key part of the musical -- Captain Hook has to be Mr. Darling. Adam looks like he's 25??? He looked a little younger at the i-heart awards, but normally with the black Melvin stuff goin' on, I think he definitely looks his age... maybe even 35!

Nothing about Adam fits Peter Pan. I find the whole idea totally cringe-worthy. I do think Chris Coffer would be perfect. He is very talented, and I have no doubt he could handle musical theater without much difficulty.

In my wildest dreams I could never imagine Adam being Peter Pan. However, as a pretty androgynous elf, Sauli could do it.

Not children's theater, the musical production. This is Peter Pan 2014.... They have sold 100,000 tickets to this production all over the world. And is that really so far from this? But this "Neverending Story" version isn't what NBC is going to produce -- they are planning to do the old Mary Martin musical, in which Peter is supposed to be a boy, not an adult (even if he is played by an adult). And, not to pile on, but I'm having a hard time imagining Adam singing "I Gotta Crow" and "I Won't Grow Up" and asking Wendy to sew his shadow back on. Lol. On another topic, someone asked earlier why Peter Pan is usually played by a woman onstage. The role was played by women right from the start. This article explains: www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2014/01/23/peter_pan_played_by_a_woman_why_a_history_of_casting_the_j_m_barrie_character.htmlExcerpt: "Why have so few men stepped into the role of the eternally young boy?
Initially, the interests of a producer, the logistics of casting, and even English law may have played a part. After that, it became tradition. In his 1979 book, J.M. Barrie and the Lost Boys: The Real Story Behind Peter Pan, English writer and director Andrew Birkin recounts the backstory for the first stage productions. Broadway producer Charles Frohman enthusiastically agreed to produce the play, and he made a couple of suggestions to the author. First, that it be titled, simply, Peter Pan; Barrie’s working title was The Great White Father, which is what Barrie has the Indians call Peter. (That phrase has uncertain origins but was—and is—used by some Native Americans to refer to white leaders.) Second, Frohman asked that, in America, the starring role of Peter be played by his protégé, Maude Adams. Frohman reasoned that a man would be wrong for the part, and if they cast a boy, the other children “would have to be scaled down in proportion.” English law prohibited the use of minors under 14 on stage after 9 p.m. So a woman it was."

It was the green hair that got you going on this idea, Q3 wasn't it? It was a facial expression that Adam made in an interview on the iHeartRadio Music Awards that put this into my head. And it is now stuck there! **** Yes, I figured it was way out of the box. But I keep coming back to the fact that he would be great, he has the imp look about him, and I love the original play character who was a lot more like Robin Hood than the Disney character. **** Since I am putting forward unpopular opinions, I do not want Adam to play Judas. Yes, he would be great but no, I do not want him to be in the role that questions Jesus in America 2014. I think he is best to stay far away from religion. This musical is controversial to many conservative Catholics and all Evangelicals and Fundamentalists -- about 40% of the US, and converting Judas Iscariot into a sympathetic character who questions Jesus' divinity is not a good association for Adam. This was controversial in 1973 when the US was much more liberal, it is a bigger problem now. **** Adam can be controversial but JMHO he should not get embroiled needlessly in religion. **** BTW I do agree he would be great as Danny in "Grease" and I would love to see him cast in Baz Luhrmann's "Elvis" movie. I think Adam + Baz + Elvis = magic. So I have not completely lost my mind. And, I also think he would make a great Peter Pan! And the ratings would be through the roof!
