Seeing we seem to be on I can't make you love me train... Adam's version is good but never been fond of his upper register walk in the wilderness in the middle - just felt a bit self indulgent. I have trouble going past Bonnie Raitt versions - will always belong to her muse such pure simple interpretation.. Thanks for bringing up Bonnie Raitt - the original here is the best for me. I have been a fan of hers for a very long time.

I stumbled upon a couple early David Bowie tracks the other day, and I really forgot how great he was -- even in the early days. I think he is a very underrated vocalist because he became so associated with his early 80's dance tracks. But man, he has an impressive range (Sung range: G1-G♯5 based on his fans, I have not confirmed that) and such a distinctive vocal style. I LOVE Bowie's voice. G1-G#5 is a load of baloney but his range is really good... 3:16 here is crazy!! I really love the passion behind Life on Mars? but I think my favourite Bowie vocal is Sound and Vision. So unique and I love the variety in sound he can make from his own voice. That is why I put the (according to his fans) 'cause I have not checked it -- only the extremes. But the G#5 is real as is the G1 -- just the quality of that high note is not good. But he is such a complex person, artist, songwriter, etc. that I think he gets forgotten as a vocalist. He also is not a powerful singer and it seems that volume/power = great singer for many people. Not me so much. I tend to like tenors and contraltos, and baritones who sing in the tenor range, who have distinctive voices -- Adam, Elvis Costello, Neil Young, Bowie (baritone), Freddie (baritone), John Lenon (baritone), Bob Marley, Usher, Adele, Lorde all are on my favs list. There are a few baritones I really love Frank Sinatra, Jim Morrison...can't think of any more. I am not too much of a fan of the singer-songwriter types -- John Meyer, Paul Simon, James Taylor. Even when I like their songs. If I misclassified a singer, forgive me. I just did it from memory and a few are tricky. **** Here is a song I would love hear Adam cover.... Elvis Costello & Burt Bacharach: God Give Me Strength The best his from the movie "Grace of My Heart." Sung by Kristen Vigard. Lip synced in the movie by Illeana Douglas. Written by Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach. youtu.be/pJvKN7MS_9wI have never heard it sung by anyone who could actually sing it very well.

ACK! I don't like the new shorter pants on men. They all look like they are wearing someone elses pants - a shorter someone else. Not a flattering look for anyone, IMO.

Neil was apparently required to lose another 25 pounds off his already pretty-damn-skinny frame for the Hedwig role. I think he looks awful. I don't understand the current push/requirement for male actors to dramatically change their weight for roles. ETA: It's gotten so bad lately, that I almost hope that Adam never gets offered a juicy role that would require him to do a lot of weight fluctuation. I think Matt Damon has some permanent heart damage for what he did, and Tom Hanks has alluded some role-related health issues as well. Can you imagine Adam being unable to perform properly? Tom Hanks is now a diabetic. He attributed it to the big weight fluctuations he made for his career. He gain weight for "A League of Their Own" and lost weight for "Cast Away". The large weight loss aged Matthew McConaughey. How do you explain the terrible make-up and David Burtka's outfit. ETA: Adam the trend setter for crop pants this season. Tom Hanks also lost a lot of weight for The Philadelphia Story. I wonder why Neil had to lose so much weight for the character..

coo.coo.ca.choo -- I want to move to another station!! My station followed up the Queen contest announcement with The Beatles "I Saw Her Standing There" from 1963. :( I like The Beatles, but seriously that was not their best song. ETA: At least if I win this, I will be on the young side of their listening audience. mine just played Led Zep Communication Breakdown. Would you consider that "good listening"? they also kindly said that the code word will be given in 13 mins (thats 9 mins from now)... very nice of them, as I can turn it off for now... I AM REALLY REALLY GRUMPY!!!!!!! I listened to this total junk at 4 PM and 6 PM like they said to and listened for 15 minutes and NO FU****G key word! Has anyone else had this problem? I will try again at 8PM and then freak out at them tomorrow.
