My station followed up the Queen contest announcement with The Beatles "I Saw Her Standing There" from 1963. :( I like The Beatles, but seriously that was not their best song. ETA: At least if I win this, I will be on the young side of their listening audience.  mine just played Led Zep Communication Breakdown. Would you consider that "good listening"? they also kindly said that the code word will be given in 13 mins (thats 9 mins from now)... very nice of them, as I can turn it off for now... |

I thought David Burtka was a slimmed down Val Kilmer. I'm keeping this the next time people say Adam only looks good because he is wearing make-up. Neil looks ill!  Neil was apparently required to lose another 25 pounds off his already pretty-damn-skinny frame for the Hedwig role. I think he looks awful. I don't understand the current push/requirement for male actors to dramatically change their weight for roles. ETA: It's gotten so bad lately, that I almost hope that Adam never gets offered a juicy role that would require him to do a lot of weight fluctuation. I think Matt Damon has some permanent heart damage for what he did, and Tom Hanks has alluded some role-related health issues as well. Can you imagine Adam being unable to perform properly? Tom Hanks is now a diabetic. He attributed it to the big weight fluctuations he made for his career. He gain weight for "A League of Their Own" and lost weight for "Cast Away". The large weight loss aged Matthew McConaughey. How do you explain the terrible make-up and David Burtka's outfit. ETA: Adam the trend setter for crop pants this season. |

Adam's performance of I Can't Make You Love Me at Upright Cabaret was the song that made me fall in love with him when I first discovered it over 5 years ago.Like many of you, I found myself looking for pre idol stuff--just wanting to know everything I could possibly find out about this incredible singer. When I first heard this song, I just kept staring at this young man,wondering how anyone could expose the depths of pain in his soul with such beauty and intensity. And then---when he appears to wipe a tear from his eye at the end--I just lost it myself as I sat at my computer and had the feeling that somehow, my life would never be quite the same again.And, how right I was!!!
