www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaolVEJEjV4#t=41 She won! She fucking won!!!! The Eurovision Song Contest!!!! Oh fuckety fuck, I am sooo proud!!! ETA: The vid above is from the semi finals ETA II: I dare you NOT to be captivated by this ... the stage is huuuuuuuge, and she doesent move at all but commands it nonetheless ... a true DIVA ETA III: Something I learned from Interviews: His best friend is his hairdresser - but broke his shoulder before ESC ... and another of his best friends is his dentist .... LOL ... both shows IMHO ... Conchita was great and her song is so beautiful! I'm so happy that she won! I voted 20 times for Austria, unfortunately this was the voting limit! Well, seems that was just the perfect limit, since she won - you did your part .... thanks from over here !!!!

... Sam, who was named the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2013, went as the 249th pick. He is only the second person ever to hold that title and fall out of the top 33 picks of the NFL draft. The other was Chad Lavalais of Louisiana State University, who was picked 142nd back in in 2004. Before the draft, CBS had Sam’s prospect ranking at 169. If Sam went so late in the draft because teams were concerned about the unwanted attention that selecting the first gay player, they did not seem to be concerned about such impressions across the board; Zach Mettenberger, who plead guilty to sexual battery after groping a woman outside of a bar, went second in the sixth round of the draft. Prince Shembo, who was investigated in connection with the sexual assault of a woman who soon after committed suicide, was the 139th pick.
Now that Sam has been drafted, he will move onto the next challenge of securing a spot on the roster. He’ll need to make the team over the summer to become the first openly gay player actively in the NFL, and his spot isn’t guaranteed. more... in other words - we have long way to go! Of course we have a long way to go for 'equality for all people' with many challenges long the way but, for me, today gives me hope that we are on the right path to that goal and I celebrate this progress. Micheal Sam has the same opportunity as everybody else drafted today to try to make their selective teams' rosters. I celebrate this! So glad Micheal Sam is getting his chance to prove himself in the summer training camps. His scores in the football equivalent of standardize physical testing were rather low for the pros, which contributed (and I hope the main contribution) to his low draft pick. He is considered too small (at 6'2" & 261 lbs) to play defensive end in the pros and not fast enough (4.91 sec 40 yard dash) to play outside linebacker in the pros. (Not that I have any idea what either of those positions do, I'm just quoting what I read.) But as we all know, standardized testing does not tell the whole story and grit and determination can go a long ways in making up for low statistics. Otherwise, he would never have made SEC Defensive Player of the Year. So let's hope his performance in the training camps wins him a good spot on the team!

Yes! And so much more! I truly believe his bravery at being out at the beginning of his career made many closeted gay performers, sports figures, etc sit up and take notice! They have witnessed his success. It made them realize it was OK to be themselves! Remember when Oprah said, "You are doing it!" She was right!
