Thanks Redpanda for saying those kind words. Yes...my parents always made us kids sort of 'walk in the other person's shoes' and never get to full of ourselves.

The hometown visits are never the focus on performance night. You will get an extended look tonight as they go through the F3, leading up to the elimination. I remember Adam's season when I saw Danny's hometown clip I knew he had been eliminated because they made him look like a total douche LOL |

I really hope that Adam does not sing with Caleb...I just can't go through weeks of comparisons about the both of them,by fans and by the press. Remember the James Durbin hoopla.. got kind of nasty and awful.Although I think Caleb really admires Adam's talent and IMHO James was jealous and competitive.
I want to see Adam ,but I would rather he sing with Jena if anyone.

Yep. I know that I don't know Adam, but in the many years since Idol, not to mention my *ahhem* online virtual stalking of everything Adam related, I feel that I have a pretty real picture of the kind of person he is, the work ethic he has, and his philosophy.
Maybe I'm deluded about that, but we have seen him in so many situations, heard him state his life approach of realness and honesty and heard others praise him as a person so many times that I don't think I am far off the mark.
All this to say that I feel so glad that this man who captured me with his voice, who I instantly became a lifelong fan of, is also someone I can respect and be proud to be a fan of. Not just for his insane talent, but also as a person.
(Forgive the misplaced preposition, but it is so awkward to say "of whom I am proud to be a fan.")
I wish more of these contestants/singing stars would realize that there is more to being a talent than just a voice, it all wraps up into one package. Especially I wish that someone would convince these young singers of this fact. *side-eying the Justin Bieber*
Very very welcome. Another truth I have gleaned from life is not to be afraid to reward behavior you want repeated. Works for raising kids, works for being a supervisor and works really well on me! I really enjoy your posts.

Thoughts from the edge:
On Idol -Alex is my pick, the only one that peaks my interest enough to even listen to the YouTubes. Jena and Caleb too ordinary, too many others already out in the music world. QAL on idol this year - nope do not see the merit. Definite no, IMO, if it includes Caleb. Long shot and way different from traditional Idol fare, why not Avicii? Jena has been touted as the EDM girl. LMD or something from his upcoming albumn.
Queen announcement - I go with Rio and the World Cup opening. This is a been there done that, but a huge platform and a show that would be very well received. Good soft opening for the tour. Also, last time in rio was jan 1984 , close enough to 30 years for me.
