You are correct. Male voices tend to continue to develop until about age 35 or so. And they get better with practice and use, provided they are being used with correct technique. As long as Adam is smart about his voice, he should continue to grow vocally with age and experience. The singer in me looks at the dates for the tour and worries a bit when I see 4 days in a row of concerts. I know that Adam did a 120 concert tour without missing one date with GNT. However, Queen music is more demanding to sing, and the concerts will be longer. I am hoping that Adam, Brian and Roger will be cautious in designing the set list to give Adam's voice rests throughout the concert. I would love it if Adam brought a voice coach along with him to keep an eye on everything and make sure he warms up well and avoids overuse. But, of course, Adam knows better than anyone what his voice needs and how to take care of it. I tell myself he is a 32 year old man, a seasoned performer, and I shouldn't worry. But, we all worry about something with our BB, right? There whole tour has no 4 days in a row -- all 2 day of concert and at least 1 day off. The confusing dates are Korea because it is a two day festival and QAL is not list on the lineup yet. www.facebook.com/SuperSonicKorea/app_321922377880728I expect they will perform on 8/14 Korea, then 8/16 and 8/17 Japan. So no 4 days in a row. Whew! I was reading the schedule wrong. Duh. But, the July schedule is still brutal from the 9th to the 20th, with 9 concerts in 12 days. But I am relieved it is not 4 days straight. Okay, I'll stop worrying. I know Adam knows what he is doing.

As to how Adam's voice has improved since Idol, it is somewhat hard to tell from fan-made videos rather than professional recordings. I hear more richness in his low register. I also hear more roundness and fullness in his belting, particularly in the higher register. Earlier recordings sometimes were a bit piercing, and now have more of the lower harmonics as well as the higher ones. It is warmer.
I think he has also further developed his "rock" and "pop" voices so that he doesn't sound as "musical theater" as some of the earlier recordings. He can still produce that "legitimate" sound, but can also sound less formal, if you know what I mean?
His technique and control have always been exemplary. And he has always known how to wring emotions out of a song like no one else.

Totally OT Just finished watching The Voice here on the west coast. If that little baby-faced buttoned-up unintelligible country sausage wins The Voice then there is NO HOPE left. None. And furthermore... those swaybots are fucking killing me.
