Are we convinced that touring to Sept 1 rules out a single released at the end of August? Considering he can't do promo here if he is on other continents, I'd say "yes!" I'm just happy that Adam is doing what he loves to do with people he loves in countries that love him...It's beyond exciting.. hard for for me to complain when Adam's plate is full of such goodness. The Aussies who don't know how great Adam is, are in for amazing concerts. The Aussie fans of Adam Lambert know just what an incredible performer Lambert is.... Adam and Queen a match made in heaven

Happy for the OZ fans. But NGL, extremely disappointed in no new single end of August. I guess I'm naive, but couldn't they still dro a single at the end of August? Tour wrapping up, Adam could ease right in to promo mode, still riding on Queen buzz? eTA: asked and answered already, I see. Still, I don't see much difference between late August and early September. I think we'll see single within that window. (Oz shows wrap up sept 1 & that's the end, isn't it? (If I'm wrong about that, my apologies)

Queen Australian tour announced with best Freddie Mercury replacement www.theage.com.au/entertainment/music/queen-australian-tour-announced-with-best-freddie-mercury-replacement-20140520-zrhls.htmlLike our own INXS, iconic English stadium rock band Queen spent many fruitless years trying desperately to find a lead singer with half the charisma of a tragically-departed icon. Now Queen has announced its first Australian tour in 29 years, in the process apparently settling on a replacement for Freddie Mercury: former American Idol runnerup Adam Lambert. He is probably best-known to Australians for finishing runner-up in the 2009 series of American Idol and for two top-10 singles the same year (Whataya Want From Me, If I Had You). At this point Freddie-devotees and fans of Queen's classic-lineup will no doubt howl in outrage: the cheek of suggesting a reality television show contestant (and a runner-up at that) is fit to lace Mercury's boots! Queen truly replacing Mercury was seen as every bit as difficult as INXS replacing Michael Hutchence. Make that harder; Mercury is widely acknolwedged as the greatest rock frontman of all time. The combination of his brazen showmanship, enormous likeability and a voice made for rock anthems was a unique package of talents. Since Mercury died in 1991 from an AIDS-related illness, no fewer than 11 singers have fronted Queen, among them some music legends: Elton John, David Bowie and Annie Lennox. Robbie Williams even had a crack. While Lambert, 32, doesn't have Mercury's giant stage presence, he has earned impressive reviews for his fine vocals and his own magnetism. Of his performance with Queen at the iHeart Radio concert in Las Vegas last September, Rolling Stone wrote: "Lambert astounded the audience on songs like We Will Rock You and the closing We Are The Champions and A Crazy Little Thing Called Love." Hollywood Reporter wrote: “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.” No account of Queen's revival can leave out its former bassist, John Deacon, who retired from the band in 1997. According to an article from the official Brian May website, Deacon has said: "Freddie can never be replaced." Since 2011, Neil Fairclough has played bass on tour. But there is no surer sign of the remaining original band members' confidence in Lambert than committing on its first major tour in nearly 30 years: before the four Australian concerts, Queen with Lambert will play 19 shows over a month in North America, starting June 19th. At a press conference announcing the North American leg, guitarist May said "This happened organically with Adam. People are going to ask whether it's Queen without Freddie. I don't know. We just want to go out there one more time. Adam isn't an imitator. We're going into new territory." Drummer Roger Taylor added: "Adam is the most incredible frontman. He's a great diva, and I mean that in the best possible way. We need that theatrically." Lambert himself is suitably respectful of the situation: “The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in Australia is so beautifully surreal. I'm honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie's memory; he's a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band. "I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display.” While it is probably too late for Queen to regain its place as one of the biggest rock acts on the planet - May and Taylor are 66 and 64 respectively - the likelihood of memorable (rather than regrettable) Queen concerts is extremely promising. QUEEN TOUR DATES PERTH: Friday 22 August – Perth Arena SYDNEY: Tuesday 26 August – Allphones Arena MELBOURNE: Friday 29 August – Rod Laver Arena BRISBANE – Monday 1 September – Brisbane Entertainment Centre QUEEN TICKETS On sale 10am Wednesday 28 May from ticketek.com.au or 132 849. Visa pre-sale from 12pm (local time) Thursday 22 May until 11pm (local time) Sunday 25. Go to www.visaentertainment.com.au

I think it is smart of Adam to not push a single out, if the album is not far enough along to be a surefire thing for about 3 months later. Adam has not given me any indication recently that this is where he is at. I have heard a lot of wishful thinking along those lines, but the only statement, I have from Adam, is one he made right around his Birthday. He hopes the album comes out this year (2014). If the album does not come out this year, there must be something seriously wrong. That statement was prior to both his work session in Sweden.
Since the time in Sweden, the commentary was always...I am working hard on it.....or something similar. Never did he give any indication that it was close to ready.
Its as simple as this: When its ready, it will come out. I have full understanding that Adam is struggling with it. He has delivered a lot of great music, but he has not yet struck gold with it (in the sense of a top hit). The question or what is his sound or his direction, is very much open still, even though some signature elements have certainly begun to show. Advice he is getting or hearing is pulling him in all kinds of directions, because there are so many different directions he CAN go into. Ultimately, the only voice he can follow is his own, and that means he needs to allow for and work within the timelines that this inner voice follows.
Supporting an artist, can sometimes mean waiting. The Queen fans seem quite familiar with that concept. Perhaps we need to learn a thing or two from there.
Very happy for these AU tour announcements and any others that might happen. Glad also that they are not squeezing another 8 tour dates between NA and Japan/Korea or something along the lines. Wonder what they will decide to do? Fly home to England for a week between NA and Asia seems like brutal on the body with double timezone adjustment. Time for some vacation in Asia? Does Adam have some plans for in between? He could a bit more readily fly home for a week and then leave for Korea. We shall see.

I'm not disappointed about possibility of no new single release in August .. I think Adam's new Queen tattoo says it all..Adam is" in it to win it"First time back in Australia in a while for Adam . To me there are no better songs than Queen songs and nobody, beside Freddie, who can sing them better than Adam.. So Adam has the best songs ,the best band and gets to tour in all the right places without the responsibility for the costs of the tour.To me the more Queen the better. I think Adam will put out a single when he can and an album to follow... to add we still don't know the terms of his ending the contract with RCA.Maybe he simply can't put out his own creations yet. IMHO,Adam is no longer worried about competing with the Bruno Mars,Katy Perrys or JTs. He's carving out his own path. I trust in Adam I trust in Adam, too. I trust as much as Paula Abdul who says:"Adam will be iconic!"

IMHO Adam has the best gig in the world.. QUEEN. He has said he learns so much from the best of the best.. The gig gives Adam time to grow in all ways..Being iconic takes a while and in my heart, Adam is always heading in that direction....

Being iconic takes a while and in my heart, Adam is always heading in that direction....I think these men should take some time, whenever they can. Brian/Roger and their entourage (minus Rufus) are not spring chickens anymore, and all, even Adam, need to have good health=good voice/fingers/backs/arms/legs. Good to see the few days between the first grouping of Aussie concerts. Maybe Adam can actually enjoy touristy adventures in OZ land. Maybe also, please, please, a "little" promo for his own work while down under (maybe Asia too.) Still crossing fingers that a single and album release equates to a late tour in 2015, early 2016. Another up-side of this fabulous Queen/Adam expanding tour is ---- hopefully Adam can get in the home ownership market, and find a "home" that suits his taste ( don't mean big---just cool) and, still keep his bank account in a very, very respectful position! Ie (expanding) I think he just needs to find the right one, in the right location.

It's my hope that Adam's music is what he wants to make of it. I hope he's not fretting about what might play on the radio or not. A great portion of his earlier music was/is radio friendly. I hope his focus continues to be on what he likes to perform and where his heart is at the moment. I don't particularly like the term "organic" but an artist creates and either folks respond or don't respond. It would be great if radio decided to give their listening audiences a chance to respond but we've seen how that goes in the past. My biggest wish of all is that the album has critical success and sells well enough to warrant a tour such as GNT. For very selfish reasons I've never wanted Adam to play huge arenas.
Re the pics at the grocery store - I wonder if any of those folks in the checkout line were dying inside.
