Thanks, mellimom, for posting the video of Loaded. I cannot even tell you how Adam's absolute ability to inhabit a song impacts me when he sings this song. I actually can't listen to it often because it makes me so emotional. It harks back to a hard time in my life, and it evokes it so entirely that I cry each time I hear it. That is the power and the magic that he brings to my life. Incomprehensible to me, really, how someone's voice and soul can do that to me. It's just a voice, just some words, but all of the humanity and feeling and understanding and empathy he puts into it,....just unbelievable to me.
One other thing, if I am not mistaken, Adam sings a song that has these words: "I've never been so satisfied."Can someone help me out and name that tune? Got it, it's A Loaded Smile |

I have a completely OTT and unrelated question and will take it elsewhere .... or better perhaps...invite others with the required expertise to pm me...
I have always loved the blues harp sound and have hankered to learn the harmonica for years. I told my fan this 20 years ago and they bought me a couple of harps and an instruction book but I was heavy into university in those days and did not go anywhere with it. I always felt that what was lacking may just have been lessons. I have approached a couple of harp players here but they were playing musicians and clearly not interested in giving lessons.
Anybody here with ideas of how to start? What is a good starting instrument? Instruction book/vids? Chromatic or Diatonic? Any advice??? I gave away the older harps and books ages ago and am starting from ground zero? Love the Blues sounds...slow sad blues wails....

geezlouise - that picture makes me smile because of the video where it starts out with Adam sweetly talking about his performance, and then we see the transformation... Oh - and the green shirt - I LOVE the green shirt...

I'm happy for everyone who lives in Perth that they are going to get a concert! Usually they get ignored as it costs so much to shift the gear to such an isolated place that not many artists go there. It's West Coast v East Coast of America x 100 as far as having to cater to East Coast time zone and who gets all the attention. I predict the Perth concert may be the first to sell out in Australia. Most of the 2 million people who live there may want to go! |
