Dylan's "Rolling Thunder Review" in 1973-74 was astounding! And he brought a lot of friends on stage (Boston). But I am beyond excited to see QAL! I purposely got tickets to their 1st and last gig - though was pretty sure they'd be adding shows... which happily happened. Happiness is the truth! Q3- I remember meeting you in the Hammersmith balcony in London. Oh the first QAL London concert is on my lifetime concert memory list!! And I remember meeting you! That trip to London was the second most outrageous thing I ever did to see a concert. *** All this old concert discussion plus the upcoming QAL tour, reminded me of my first Queen concert sort of *** My first most outrageous thing I ever did was also Queen's fault! I actually sort of dropped out of college for 2 weeks because of them! Well it was 1974, and class attendance was optional, and did I already say it was 1974? I went to see a concert in Harrisburg PA on May 1, 1974 -- the venue was a strange place built for rodeos and tractor pulls and state fairs with chairs on a dirt floor. The headliner was Mott the Hoople plus Aerosmith and Queen. Queen (the opening, opening act) was OK -- no better than OK -- my friends and I did not really pay any attention because we were there for Mott the Hoople. Then came Aerosmith who were not big yet. They performed a bunch of stuff including "Dream On" which later became a bit hit. They were great -- and the opening band from the UK were pretty much forgotten. Mott the Hoople was pretty good. I learned recently that Brian May and Joe Perry shared a bottle of Jack Daniels before the concert while their managers argued about who would go on first. They were both totally drunk when they preformed. Queen lost and opened the show. Apparently Freddie was really not happy they had to open the concert. I believe the combination of way to much drinking + having to be the opening opening act is why Queen was not great. I do not believe there were any reviews of what in retrospect was an amazing concert bill. The two opening acts were not important in 1974. And Mott the Hoople were not mainstream big. And this was in Harrisburg. Two days later, some friends dragged me to see Mott the Hoople again -- and dragged is the operative word -- I really was not interested . So on May 3, 1974 in Wilkes Barre, PA I actually attended my first Queen concert. I was blow away. The guitarist was great, the lead singer was amazing. We met some of the people who were with Mott the Hoople and learned they were booked for 6 shows in New York City starting on May 7th. So we headed to NY and went to all of these shows -- and only attended the opening acts show for 5 of the 6 shows. Somewhere along the way, I managed to explain this absence to my profs. ***** I arranged my Summer 2009 for Adam/Idols I arranged my Summer 2010 for Adam I arranged my Summer 2012 for QAL Now, once again because of Queen + Adam , I have arranged by schedule for an entire summer around Queen and Adam. I notice a trend!!!

Q3 -I look forward to reading your memoir... I'm sure for each tidbit you've shared today, there are a LOT of stories to go with them.

Three of those are not on my list because I saw them live. Rolling Stones 1972 - many, many of the US concerts. I do not recall how many. I had a connection to one of the US promoters. Oddly, I only went to see them one more time after that tour. My love for the Stones faded in the early 70's. Not sure I want to see Mick at 70 on tour. I preferred Mick in the 70's. Bowie - Ziggy Stardust Tour 1972 - I worked for that tour's US leg. Coolest job ever! I think I have seen every Bowie tour. My favorite Bowie Tour and concert was the Serious Moonlight Tour, August 11, 1983 Tacoma Dome. The Tubes opened for him, and the venue has serious acoustics -- the world's largest wood domed arena -- and since it was the only concert I ever saw there I do not know if it is the building or was that Bowie was perfect that night! (I lived in Seattle then and Seattlites only go to Tacoma when there is no other option!! ) James Brown - I saw him when he was old but he could still sing and move!! Must have been 1979 or so. Amazing performer. Jackie Wilson - I saw him many years ago maybe 1971 in Philadelphia in a club called the Showboat. But of everyone on your list, I believe that I saw Queen (with Freddie) the most. It was not a plan, just sort of happened. I feel very lucky that I lived through the 70's and early 80's when concerts were affordable. I have splurged on this QAL Tour but I keep passing on concerts because the tickets are too expensive. There are very few artists I am willing to pay > $100 a ticket to see. ETA: I saw Bob Dylan a couple of times -- he was OK. But I want to add The Band and the Allman Brothers to my list. I just got back on the thread and see you have seen so many of my 'time machine' concerts! Lucky...lucky...you! I don't know why but I didn't go to many concerts growing up. So I missed all these amazing performers live. I loved, listen to, danced, and enjoyed their music but, I guess, since my boyfriend/husband really wasn't into music and dancing, after I left school my life kind of took a detour. But in High School I used to go to dances every week, listen to live bands at dances, and would go downtown to watch the different Motown Reviews that came here to perform. They were amazing...Aretha Franklin, The Four Tops, Wilson Pickett, Little Richard, Sam and Dave, Jerry Butler (The Ice Man), and the list goes on and on. Good Times! Good Times! Adam brought back to me the joy of music again. He really did. His 'Satisfaction' on Idol made me stop, remember, and FEEL the freedom and the amazing energy music gives you. My life has been so much happier, productive, and positive with Adam and his music in it. Bring on my Chicago QAL Concert!!!!!!!!!!!!

How can that be I thought AtY was the next single?????????????? oh well I just requested it Is it on the request form or on the actual playlist? It can be on the request form without having been actually added. If they play it even one time for whatever reason it will automatically be on the mediabase request form for the station but that does not mean that the station has officially added it to the playlist. ETA: Oddly enough Lay Me Down did get one top 40 add this week from a station in Salt Lake City, Utah KUDD Mix 107.9
