Roger Taylor is an awesome drummer -- he does not usually make the lists of the Top 10 best rock drummers because he probably falls around #12 or #13 of all time. Which is not shabby. This is the one rock position that there is real consensus about #1 -- John Bonham, Led Zeppelin. Setting these lists aside, I think Roger might be ranked higher if Queen was a hard rock/heavy metal band vs. the multi-genre band. And his role within Queen was much bigger than being the drummer. He was the glue that held everything together -- particularly important during the first half of the 1980's. Roger is one of the best singers who played drums in a major act. Music Radar puts him at #6 on this list; www.musicradar.com/us/news/drums/the-12-greatest-singing-drummers-ever-486045/8Disclosure: This list is a bit odd because Ringo Starr is #1 and while he is a great drummer (highly underrated), Ringo is not much of a singer. ** I have not seen enough of Tiger to evaluate him as a drummer for what my eval is worth (very little). But if someone has a nice Tiger drum solo, please post the link. In any case, it is a great opportunity for Tiger to play in this tour and the double drums is perfect for Queen in arenas. That was clear at iHeart. Note: I have seen Tiger with Queen 3 times but Adam was there and Adam is all I see or recall. Though Neil Peart would wholeheartedly agree with your placement of John Bonham at #1, many lists put Mr. Peart there, with Bonham in the #2 spot...... so not a total lock on 'real consensus'.

Ok I'm a little confused. Rufus and Tiger are Rogers' sons. I thought Rufus played with them during the last gigs. But now Tiger will be the second drummer? What am I missing here?

I know when the QAL US tour was first announced there was much anticipation for promotional TV interviews. Not too much of that has materialized. Do we think it's too early? Do we expect any TV appearances to promote this? And yes, I know many venues are close to sold out but some are not - notably the 2 NJ ones and I think Philly is still not near to selling out. Maybe I'm wrong - I hope so. But my point is will there be any TV appearances prior or during the tour? Whaddya think? Possibly... in certain cities throughout the tour, would be my guess.

Proud papa, I think...

[grins] All the same guy. Rufus "Tiger" Taylor. Don't know if the Tiger is a nickname or his real middle name, tho'. ETA: According to Wiki, Roger has 5 kids: Felix Luther & Rory Eleanor (1st wife); Rufus Tiger [real middle name apparently], Tiger Lily, and Lola Daisy May (2nd wife). I'm guessing his eldest is a few years older than Adam. Lola is apparently only 14! Roger now on wife #3.
