He has mentioned younger fans on several other occasions, but in this case he was asked about filling Freddies shoes, so was more appropriate to mention the purists or older fans.
Ohh.. I guess I've missed that interviews. Can you please post that interview when he mentioned younger fans?
Every interview from the MSG press event and the follow-ups just about. Here it the Rolling Stone interveiw: In the interview clip that was posted, he was specifically addressing the fans who saw Queen with Freddie who are mostly over over 50 -- 1982 was 32 years ago (North America). I think most of the originalists who dominate online forums and who post Queen videos on YT are mostly not from the US or Canada and mostly never saw Queen with Freddie live.

For those who have Amazon Prime, we now get to stream a lot more music! I moved a lot of Elvis, Dylan, Springsteen and Everly Brothers into my cloud for free streaming.
FYE is also available.

On the above RS article, RS interviewer was the one who brought up about the younger fans. I mean I understand about the nostalgia part, but there's more to nostalgia now. Because like the RS interviewer said it's a new experience for the younger generations and his own fans who also now becoming new fans of Queen. In 23 years after Freddie pass away, even several years before 1991, Queen has generated more fans and new fans. One of those fans is Adam Lambert himself.
I think I've watched all the videos concerning this NA tour or listened those radio interviews with OZ radio stations, but I don't remember Adam mentioned about younger fans. Off course, it's very possible I missed some of these interviews and if I did I would like to watch and listen to them. Please don't throw any tomatoes at me.. but I really want him to acknowledge these fans as well. If not.. oh well... nobody's perfect, and that's including Adam .
{couldn't find that ducking at flying tomato smiley}.

As far as the comments about Saskatoon not doing well with sales...........Cher is playing in Saskatoon a day or 2 before Queen and that concert is almost sold out. There are not many tickets left according to the message that comes up when looking for tickets. Same thing applies to Winnipeg and Cher. Cher is playing the night before Queen in Winnipeg and only single seats are left for Cher in Winnipeg, and the not many notice comes up there too.
I think if the shows in Winnipeg and Saskatoon were a week later than scheduled it would have made a big difference for sales in Winnipeg and Saskatoon. Maybe next week will see some last minute sales pick up. The Queen Live Nation commercial was advertised on Winnipeg tv several times today and our local news has a contest everyday this week with an Adam or Queen question to give away tickets to the show.
This summer has so many concerts covering all genres. The market is flooded. I'm happy with how well Queen and Adam Lambert is selling and will continue to sell as the first few show's reviews come in. At the end of the summer and fall when the concerts are all said and done Queen and Adam will be considered one of the most successful in terms of pure talent and entertainment value.

If anyone knows peeps who would be interested in the LA Forum show, the Forum has released more tickets in several of the 100 sections (lower deck). Good seats are available in sections 107, 108, 129 and 130. Also a few seats in 128 (although they are disappearing as I write this!). yup, Forum keeps releasing all the best seats! It almost looks like half the first level was reserved for some entities that did not need them... I checked all the venues with available maps and found that ALL of them with the exception of MSG have released tickets in the best sections or reclassified VIP to "full price" as Q3 mentioned... I decided the next time I am not going to go crazy during the pre-sale but wait until the best seats show up like this.... live and learn.... I don't see many great seats being released. Nothing I would consider worth waiting for! Now, if I couldn't get anything before this, yes, I'd snatch one up. But the presale seats were way better, no?

Adam most definitely has his talking points and his script for these interviews regarding the Queen tour. There seem to be so many "legacy" acts and bands touring these days. Promoters and sponsors must think that is where the $$$ is: aging baby boomers with lots of disposable income, who are eager to recapture their youth. Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, The Eagles, Kiss, Beach Boys, Fleetwood Mac, Motley Crue, Allman Brothers, Boston, Chicago,Peter Frampton, Billy Joel, Journey, Styx, Foreigner, and on and on. It seems that is the target audience for marketing.
