I looked up a few times and there was a major section standing throughout led by an Asian woman who actually conducted the sing along songs facing the crowd with her back to stage--especially during Bo Rhap. <---added by seoulmate!! The most surprising observation I made was that grown men and older couples actually shed tears, starting with Love of My Life, some surreptitiously wiping their eyes, I could feel their genuine ache, for original Queen, and these folks were huge Brian fans. The call and response is too early in the show with AOBTD. The crowd was still sizing things up, and I agree with reviewer that Adam seemed to struggle with the lukewarm responseljsmack... thank you for your long recap! I enjoyed all of it, but these points you made above were interesting! I got a kick/had a wtf moment about the woman conducting the singalong! And the grown men shedding tears...awwwwww I think there have been several comments about the call and response of AOBTD coming too early when people aren't warmed up yet! However, Adam didn't do it in Vancouver! Go figure

OK. Time for a review. I'm at the airport watching the fog roll in and have a few minutes. I went withy dear friend, whom I never get to see any more, and it was a real treat. She came with me to GNT and grew up listening to Queen, so she was primed. We had 110 section seats - 2/3 way up and just left of center. Great spot for screen viewing and getting a sense of the crowd. Early on, I tried to start a "favorites" list in my head and quickly stopped keeping track - it was just awesome after awesome moments. STL, KQ, Brian's solo, Bo Rap, and the finale all stand out for me. My overall impression was of 6 guys having the absolute time of their lives up there. I screamed and chair danced (no one stood in my section till we all lost our collectives minds at the end) up a storm. My friend, K, and I agreed that it was definitely a queen concert, with Adam as the guest, but that that was as it should be. Adam isn't Freddie - he isn't as iconic (yet?), as crazy, as closeted - but he definitely handles the material with skill, attitude, and delight. Brian (in particular) and Roger are still giants among men, and just a delight to hear and watch. Rufus even got his moment on drums, for ???? (Help!). The crowd took some time to warm up, but once we got to KQ, it was rocking in there, and we got plenty of joy feeding back and forth from the stage. Adam even got a pair of men's leopard print underwear thrown at him. He caught them, said, "is this a pair of men's underwear? Finally!" His vocal control and tone is just superb - his voice is definitely maturing. I loved Brian's solo. He is so good live, and he was so obviously having the time of his life playing to all corners of the arena. What a show! THANK YOU, birdieeve!! I friggin' LOVE to hear everybody's impressions!!

I'm late for a recap, but I was with family and we did a week's worth of events in two days before heading home! Everyone has already watched all the concert vids and/or listened to the live stream and read many wonderful reviews already. Many fortunate fans are already excitedly anticipating tonight's concert in LA which is sure to be epic so I won't leave a traditional recap. My experience is a bit of a blur of amazement now anyway. It seemed so long of a wait, and then there I was with my two daughters, one SIL and one of their friends who attended with us last minute after my other SIL couldn't make it, staring at the Queen curtain. It was the only photo I managed to take before I was swept up into a magical haze. This was my first and only time to see Queen with Adam Lambert unless they tour again., and I was determined to make the most of it. I sat in the same section as ljsmack, Section 203, a section that definitely consisted of more Queen fan or neutral fans than Adam Lambert fans. If I hadn't had to work the day of the pre-sale and had been the one to purchase the tickets, we would have been closer, but again, I was going to make the most of my one and only and feel grateful for even being able to have this experience. I can be on the shy side, but I can proudly say I singly represented my row 4 in the the call and response to AOBTD! I didn't look behind me, but I also singly represented my row and the three rows in front of me in the Radio Gaga clap. People were clapping and screaming throughout though, and everyone seemed to be having a great time. No one stood up during the concert, but I think that's somewhat typical for the upper decks in large arenas. After Bohemian Rhapsody, I was the first in my row and rows in front of me to spring to my feet for a standing O. Another woman next to me jumped up, and several people behind me were standing and cheering for the encore. Everyone eventually stood up and clapped, screamed and whistled following the encore! I didn't hear one complaint about the concert except for a Queen fan yelling that Adam had skipped a verse in Radio Gaga and yelled "sing it over". I didn't take that as a put down, however, but just that the fan wanted to enjoy the song for a bit longer. I LOVED LOVED LOVED everything about it...well...except the speaker hampering the view of the Q screen where I could have viewed magnificent close ups. I had the time of my life and experienced so many emotions, sometimes all at once. I screamed, giggled, cried, swooned and sang with exuberance, and I'm sure I'm leaving some feelings and expressions out. My family and daughter's friend loved it and were raving after the concert. My SIL was the most impressed. Of course, he raved about Brian May who he air guitar-ed along with throughout the concert, and Roger and his son, but I can happily report that he equally raved about Adam and his talent. He not only recognized Adam's one-of-a-kind voice but his dancing and performing skills. He noticed his wonderful blend and embracement of male/female energy and the fluidity in Adam's dancing. He was particularly impressed that Adam could dance in the shoes he was wearing! He not only raved right after the concert but also the next morning to his family, who generously let us spend the night at their home. He kept raving in the car ride home! He put this in his top 3 concerts ever, and he's seen some great ones! FINALLY, I have someone in my family who understands and won't mind my gushing!!! I did not expect this, but I'm thrilled! :D I had been skipping live streams since Chicago because I wanted to experience the concert fresh. I pulled out my headphones for tonight and plan to tune in for the duration of the tour whenever anyone generously streams. I also took the rest of the week off of work to bask in the glory of the concert and to make up the time to my precious aging dog and cat who got left behind for two days. To all of you with upcoming live concerts --- Enjoy!!!

I'm late for a recap, but I was with family and we did a week's worth of events in two days before heading home! Thanks for your concert memories! I too have not watched many videos since Chicago although I have looked at all the pictures and read everyone's comments. I have watched "Here I Am" a few times as I'm trying to de-sensitize myself for when that curtain goes up. It "gets" me every time and I don't want to burst out in tears. So far that theory is not working particularly well. Enjoy your week off!!

Haven't had time to read all the recaps but loving the ones I've read! And I'm learning things that I haven't learned from the videos. One is that most many people don't stand! I thought that was a given.
Also that Adam struggled with the response part of AOBTD. That isn't apparent on any of the videos I saw. The third thing is that I have to prepare myself for this to be a QUEEN with guest Adam Lambert concert. Watching videos gives the impression that Adam is performing nearly throughout the entire concert. Although I know this isn't true I still have to work on accepting it for my concert.
So - thanks to all!
