And I can get these where? Feeling a need to stock up. A person never knows when they might need a substantial, filling breakfast. Great job, haribert.

With all the vids we have been getting of this tour I am getting really ! Could someone give me the best Killer Queen vid to send to my SIL? She was going to go see the Queen Extravaganza or whatever the traveling show is called and I keep telling her she has to go see the real thing with Adam and Queen. She lives in Santa Monica and I was hoping she would go to The Forum! Thanks!

[Mostly OT, so scroll away! ]
Just wanted to drop of this link to a NYTimes article that discusses something we've bumped against, happily or not so happily, repeatedly over the years, so I thought it might interest some of you. It's discussing "Vicious," a new PBS series (new to PBS, that is--it's in its second season in the UK) starring Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi as two older men who are longtime partners, and the complaints that the representations of gays in the series are too stereotypical. This is something Adam, as an occasionally dangerously "fabulous" man, has had to contend with from the start (we just saw it come up again in that blog post about Adam vs. Sam Smith), and it's something that he's repeatedly talked about thoughtfully (such as here , and here). How does someone who is in a very real way breaking down barriers for a whole community handle the fact that if he's true to himself, he doesn't always represent that community in the way it wants to be, or feels it needs to be, represented? [Brad Bell has written about this, too. Even more than Adam, perhaps, he has to dovetail his naturally "swishy and witty" (to borrow his own "stereotypical" language) personality with his own goals of using his cultural status to advance the cause of equality. In a way, that's precisely what "Husbands," which I've watch only some of, is about. As Brad puts it here, addressing the gay stereotype in Hollywood controversy, "frankly, many of us are swishy and witty. And many of us aren't. (Poor things.) Since femininity and cleverness aren't negative qualities -- no, really, they're not -- they're likely not the problem here."] To make this all a little more current, I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see Adam play the "Killer Queen" nightly in front of 15,000 people. Just watch him proudly strike those poses. You betta believe that song means something to him personally. Thanks for the recommendation. *** Regarding this part of your comment...."To make this all a little more current, I can't tell you how happy it makes me to see Adam play the "Killer Queen" nightly in front of 15,000 people. Just watch him proudly strike those poses. You betta believe that song means something to him personally. " I agree. I find it interesting that none of the critics have written about Adam's reinterpretation or this song. Freddie said it was about it, "It's about a high class call girl. I'm trying to say that classy people can be whores as well. That's what the song is about, though I'd prefer people to put their interpretation upon it – to read into it what they like."
I think it is pretty clear that Adam has a different meaning of Queen in mind. And clearly Freddie would approve of the reinterpretation! What Freddie said in the quote above may be part of the meaning of the song for him, but it is also the case that a man he knew (friend? person he dated who became a friend? I don't recall the exact relationship) used to actually keep moet et chandon in an ornate cabinet, and had some of the other characteristics mentioned. This story was told by the man in question in one of the Queen or Freddie bios on youtube - maybe Days of Our Lives or the Great Pretender, but I'm not sure. peace&love, Anita ETA - Oops, not The Great Pretender (documentary, not song), perhaps Freddie Mercury The Untold Story, still can't remember for sure.

I don't know that this is the best one - it is a 5 camera fan edit of Chicago, so doesn't include the champagne "fountain." There are lots of other great ones, too, but I can't tell you which is which - too many!

The reflection from that is so bright it looks like he has a flashlight that he's shining at the audience. When he backed up I looked for it in his hand and then smacked my head - oh, he touched a ray of light.

Thanks, Evergreen. I think I need to get one that has the 'Adam fountain' in it. You know...for the 'Bad Ass Rock Star' affect!lol SIL likes Lady Ga Ga which surprises me because she is sort of conservative. So I think she would enjoy the fountain into the audience thing! I appreciate your help. I might send it and then one with the 'Adam fountain'. You can never see enough of Killer Queen is my motto!

Aww Seoulmate I'm so sorry for your concert experience. My seats were in the first balcony a few rows back in Chicago and I could see great and enjoy the laser light show over the arena. I am short and I knew there was no way I could stand on the floor and see anything. Thanks to Glassam, who I got my seats from, I really was happy with my concert experience. Next time you'll know to sit up a little even if it takes a little away from the 'up close and personal' you get on the floor. You are like me...I don't get to go to many concerts but I know we will see more! ETA: You made me laugh through your whole recap. At least you could look at it with a sense of humor. Please tell us what your lawyer friend said about Adam after the show.
