>> There are three Brian May songs in this concert that could have been written for Adam that were never performed by Freddie: IWIA, WWTLF and TSMGO. Plus, there is the rearragement of "Love Kills" that Brian did fits Adam well. Makes me hope that Brian and Adam write something together someday. Freddie did perform WWTLF - Wembley 1986 www.youtube.com/watch?v=0GNJ1SQpxFI

Brian and Roger both seem to be in good health, so I expect them to continue doing this until they drop! They've both got a few years to go before they hit 70, which is only a number in this day and age! Look at Paul McCartney, for pete sake; he's 72...and still going strong! God bless them all, I say! If you've still got it, use it! Why not? We only go around once, so do what you love! Just noticed that Brian (July 19) and Roger (July 26) both have birthdays coming up this month! Thank you guys for your warm and welcoming messages! So much appreciated! Will do my best to participate more! My QAL concert is coming up on July 20 in MD, and I'm over the moon excited about it! Since Merriweather Post Pavilion is an outdoor venue (Oh, geez! The heat!!), I'm anxious to see if they have any sort of catwalk setup! I hope so 'cause I'm in Center section, Row T, and that would bring Adam just a bit closer to me! EEEEEEEEEE!!! I'm center Q see you at merriweather

Heh heh. I love Metallica and Hetfield. But yeah, TOTALLY different from Adam. But sometimes, I'm just in a headbangin' mood.... You just have to scratch that itch - my secret guilty pleasure is Meatloaf - frequently on repeat is Paradise by the Dashboard Light. I know all the words I know it's not the most down and dirty of his stuff, but .......

SCC is Headbangers Ball, heavy metal stuff that my son and his friends worshipped in the mid to late 80's (then he went to college and his tastes changed a bit) - it was anarchy, and your parents hated it, and the sound and look has to be exactly what Hetfield personifies. I took my son and his friends(dropped off is more accurate) to Black Sabbath and Judas Priest concerts and they were as happy as pigs in slop. I have a few songs on my iPod from that period because sometimes I am in the mood. Adam will not produce that sound, or that emotion, but I still enjoy his versions. Well said. Anyway Metal has very little to do with vocals -- it is more about he massive, distorted sound and aggression than about vocals. And that kind of aggression never really suited anyone in Queen except for Freddie. Brian, Roger and John all are way to "nice". >> I think Adam could channel the kind of performance aggression needed but I think he is best to stay away from it, just like Freddie did. I have been a metal fan since the late 1960's-1970's (start depends on where you classify all the blues-based hard rock bands like Led Zeppelin -- heavy metal artists or hard rock) -- and I am still a metal fan. I particularly have a few nu metal bands that I really like. Queen was never considered a heavy metal band. Queen released one heavy metal song -- "Stone Cold Crazy". And it really isn't even a Queen song but goes back to the late 60's and Wreckage, Freddie's band before Queen. I think they are performing the slow version of SCC which is similar to what they were reported to have played in the early Queen concerts -- 1970-1973. As far as I know there are no recordings or bootlegs of this version and that predates me. It was only played in the fast version in the concerts I attended (1974-1978). *** SCC is, however, an important song. The Metallica version is great. And although Queen has never won a Grammy (so wrong), Metallica won a Grammy for SCC -- 1991: Best Metal Performance – "Stone Cold Crazy". *** Adam does kill on the hard rock songs -- like TYMD.

Thanks Murly and Babs 12 for your musings and recaps! With only the Vancouver show as my concert experience, and disappointing as far as meeting Atoppers, I love all this stories of meetings and times spent together, making it all that much more real.
Nannygoat, thank you so much for bringing over that Facebook post by Michael English. He really gets it, doesn't he! In one of his replies to the comments on his Facebook page he comments to one of the skeptics "Music is silence if the song isn't sung". Isn't that what this whole concert tour experience is all about? So very true, love that comment! Music needs to be played and sung and shared in order to stay alive. If it wasn't we'd lose such a vast amount of history, enjoyment and shared moments. I'm going to appropriate this for my sig - unless someone else already has I thought of doing that too, but you go right ahead Mehitabel! It's great, just post regularly, ok!

A fan on Twitter tweeted a screenshot of the morning show, Good Day LA. Below a pic of Adam & Brian on stage, the ticker said: Adam Lambert may become full-time member of Queen. Any other sources reporting this? You can see the pic on my Twitter account, @susanneahhh I could see this happening. After UP during one show on the tour, it sounds like Brian says "Do you want to stay?" Adam replies "I want to stay!" Roger and Brian both have solo careers and other projects in addition to Queen. Adam already has the solo success that Freddie always wanted, it would be nice to see him write and record material with Queen.

This morning Spike favorited my tweet wherein I said I hoped they would all write & record together, so maybe that's another sign

However I seriously doubt they'll label the collaboration as"Adam joined Queen"or call the collaboration "Queen", but rather Q+AL... for many reasons IMO, like: Adam will want to have his name featured; Brian is a very caring individual and will sure not want some fans committing suicide... 8-)
