This was posted by eri9 and it was such a nice story, I wanted to feature it on page 1.
It has been so hard to keep up with everything here over the last couple of weeks! Now that I'm on holiday, I'll be able to go back and read it all and catch up!
I thought I'd share with you one of the adventures a couple of my kiwi friends are having.... They travelled to the US for 6 QAL shows starting in LA and both Vegas shows. They have so far met and spoken to Eber, Sutan and Sauli! And last night they met Adam's driver and had a chat. Nothing here is new to us, but I love hearing people talk about Adam like this and it is good to know he's still the same humble guy even with all this amazing success! Here is what my friend Trish wrote:
"We chatted to Adams car driver last night he said that Adam was the most down to earth awesome person he has met. He has driven Rolling Stones, Madonna, Pink, Nini Inch Nails. He said Adam & Pink have been his favourites & Madonna was awful. He got to see the show last night and ranked it up with the birth of his son as an experience. He was a really sweet guy. He said he would mention to Adam that there were people from NZ there to see him you never know.
ps just remembered something else. The question was asked "Is Adam on time" he just laughed. I said "Is Adam time challenged?" He said yes. Last night he was waiting for the call to take him to the concert. 7 o,clock (designated time) came & went, 7:10, 7:20, 7:30 he was just going to ring Adam when he got the call. This will not be news to Glamberts."
Queen + Adam Lambert - Chicago 2014 - DVD9 Complete Multi Camera

Queen + Adam Lambert - 2014/06/19 - United Center, Chicago, IL
Here is a complete Multi-Camera DVD9 I made from HD youtube rips and the audio that was recently shared here. The DVD has a few short gaps between songs but the performance is complete. Adam was the main focus of all the footage so I mixed this with plenty of wide shots to take the focus off closeups of Adam for the whole show.
I put an awful lot of time into this one, hope some of you enjoy it.

Adam Lambert ably fills in as Queen frontman at the Joint
Josh BellMon, Jul 7, 2014 (noon)
Three stars
Queen + Adam Lambert July 5, The Joint
Freddie Mercury is irreplaceable, and to their credit, Mercury’s former Queen bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor seem to understand that. Whenever they’ve performed live in the years following the singer’s 1991 death, they’ve always billed Mercury’s fill-ins separately rather than as members of Queen, and the band’s latest tour is credited to Queen + Adam Lambert.
Mercury’s presence loomed large over Queen and Lambert’s show at the Joint on Saturday night, and not just because his face frequently popped up on the video screen. The last person to front Queen for an extended period of time, Bad Company singer Paul Rodgers, didn’t have much in common with Mercury, but American Idol alum Lambert is an avowed Mercury devotee, and his flamboyant, glamorous vocal and performance style (not to mention his fashion sense) echo Mercury closely.
Which means either that Lambert is the ideal person to perform Queen classics, or that he makes the show into too much of a tribute act. For the sold-out crowd at the Joint (most of whom were probably old enough to be Lambert’s parents), the distinction didn’t matter, and for his part, Lambert never seemed to be pandering to Queen fans. Not surprisingly, he sounded best on the band’s more bombastic tunes (especially ballads like “Who Wants to Live Forever” and the reworked Freddie Mercury solo song “Love Kills”), and got a little lost on hard rockers like “Stone Cold Crazy” and “Tie Your Mother Down.” But he nailed the theatricality of “Killer Queen” (lounging on what looked like a Victorian fainting couch), and the crowd enjoyed his addition of somewhat tiresome Idol-style melisma at various points.
May and Taylor were augmented by three additional musicians (including Taylor’s son Rufus on percussion), and they nearly matched Lambert’s energy. Both took respectable turns on lead vocals (with Taylor taking the David Bowie parts on “Under Pressure”) and gave proper deference to Mercury, whose own recorded vocals filled in at various points. Lambert took the stage for the encore wearing an actual crown, but there was no question who was still the Queen.

QUEEN - The Joint - Las Vegas - 7-6-2014
Updated 7.7.14
What a night. There was a point in time some yrs ago one never imagined this night happening, but as Brian May said tonight it was the teaming up with Adam that brought youthfulness to the band, and that and his talent made this tour possible. Incredible night of music and hanging with the guys in QUEEN after the show.
I thought a lot about Freddie Mercury tonight and how I wished he were still around. I think he would be glad to see the legacy living on. Adam Lambert did a great job without trying to "copy" Freddie, and it felt like he was still there in spirit.
Thanks to Les, Spike, Kimmy, Brian, Roger, Adam and all the guys in the band for treating us so well. The conversations after the show with Brian and Roger were the highlight of the night for me for sure. Also the version of Bohemian Rhapsody with Freddie singing with Adam. ( posted the video on here, check it out) Rock N Roll hope you enjoy the pics and videos.
