Adam has been a trail blazer for a long time without being acknowledged & then out of the blue Sam Smith arrives & he is hailed the new LGB hero! WTF! It seems some heros are never excepted in their own homeland. Sam Smith rose to fame in 2012, he did not just pop up like a mushroom. His music happened to be very popular with LGBT audiences before he came out -- although most people "knew". In any case, I do not see him being hailed as a new LGBT hero or a trailblazer -- in fact he usually is on a list of people who came out. He is #7 for 2014 so far here: www.queerty.com/10-great-coming-outs-of-2014-and-its-only-june-20140624** Everything that Adam has been through is worth nothing if it does not make it easier for other gay recording artists. Just like Freddie, Bowie, Elton, Rob, Melissa, Cyndi and so many other out gay artists helped (and continue to support) Adam. And why shouldn't Sam Smith's success be celebrated?

Everything you said is true and I do celebrate Sam's success. His voice is unique and, for the most part, I like it a lot. I'm just curious to see if US radio will be eager (or even willing) to have TWO out male pop artists on high rotation. Time will tell.

wait a minute... these two women look familiar. Didn't we get several backstage photos of them from an earlier concert? Maybe Chicago? wtf WOW, you are right Seoulmate, we saw them before. But it seems those pics were from Vegas as well. Just another Instagram: instagram.com/p/qGUXa4NaNl/?modal=trueinstagram.com/p/qGVlc5taO0/

Why is this so important? I loved Adam's work on GLEE but he got more votes in this contest than James Earle Jones. I don't think even Adam would take this too seriously.
