On going battle with the cameraman all night in Toronto. Had to shoot pics over, around, and sideways. Guy would just not move. Should have paid less for the ticket because of "obstructed" view.

Guys, I really don't understand why, 5 years after the fact and with all that has happened since, people are still stressing about whether or not Adam wanted to win Idol. Why does this matter now? Why aren't we looking forward to what's ahead for him?
It just seems kind of late to be discussing Adam's motivations behind auditioning for Idol. But why wouldn't he have wanted to win once he realized that he had a strong chance of taking the prize (even though as things have turned out, it didn't matter that he took second place)? I doubt that today he regrets coming in as runner-up.
I'll never forget that Idol introduced me to Adam, and will be forever grateful for that. But that's past history, and time to move ahead.

I’d love to throw a rock at Sarver, though. He’s a dick. Gokey seemed like he was just joking… [Atozinco Note: in a video that Sarver made it shows Gokey saying about Sarver, "I love this guy to death. In the..right way?" Sarver said, "In the Godly way". Gokey repeats Sarver but looks unsure, "Um, in the Godly way... I mean, what do you say?"]

With Sarver, well…. Mom and Dad always taught us that it isn’t what you say but how you say it. That’s how I got so sardonic. So if what he said offended Adam, it probably had some teeth to it. Do I think he hates gays? No. Do I think he’s an ignorant shithead with no concept of diversity and how to interact with people that don’t match the narrow archetype of everyone you grew up with? Yes.
Alright, I’ll stop derailing about Sarver now and just say this. He’s not at fault for being ignorant if he’s never stepped outside his comfort zone. But if I were in a similar situation in which I found myself in his neck of the woods, my first inclination wouldn’t be to tell the people around town that where I’m from we all think they’re inbred hicks. Just sayin’.
I hope Neil is now aware of how much Michael Sarver has evolved since then. I really admire him for saying in one interview that Adam is the person who taught him the most, and also for lecturing his own fans for their hateful comments about Adam after the AMAs. I really believe that Sarver was a product of his environment, but he was open-minded enough to realize that the attitudes he was raised with were wrong.
The fact that things have slowed down for a brief period has a bright side for me. It gives me time to come over here instead of running as fast as I can trying to keep up with twitter and videos.
I wondered why we hadn't heard from you since the MSG concert.

Someone here once warned me that twitter is addictive. I didn't believe them.

It is so odd. I still want to hear Adam say he wanted to win Idol but I believe he finally said it and that makes me happy. Perhaps because I wanted him to win. Perhaps because we all know he deserved to win. Perhaps because if people could vote today .... in 2014....he would win. I just know it. Things have changed a lot in 5 years.
ETA I see it as a full circle moment. Only someone very successful can say that. JMHO.
