Gokey's votes went to Kris; Adam became the runner-up. I think the Lambert family knew once Allison was dumped that the outcome was pretty predictable. Adam has always been extremely gracious in defeat and continues to thank Idol for helping to launch his career. It's one of many traits that I admire in the man. I agree about Adam being gracious and I admire that. I am not so sure, however, about the "Gokey votes to Kris" theory. The most important thing is that it really does not matter. This is one vote that America did not get right -- and it is more 0evident now than ever.  What really matters at this juncture is for A3 to be successful. Everything else is going great! I think we are seeing only the tip of an iceberg as far as the opportunities and offers Adam is enjoying, he is cherry picking big time IMO! |

<sigh> I miss Neil's open snarking. Such a shame that he grew up and got discrete. #onlysortajoking (He really was such fun to read). What is Neil up to and has he made it to any QAL concerts? |

Thanks Q3. MO is in many, many ways southern, especially culturally, language, food, religion, family values. In others a bit more midwestern (ie. transportation, industry, farming, racial divide). But for this discussion, where DC moved around between 3 different states that were all southern, I honestly just picked one, and did not see why this needed to be a 5 page discussion. 12 out of 13 winners are southern, 1 midwest. None are east or west coast. It's the reality of this show. And Q3 added a few other statistics, that make all this even more apparent. Deleted personal comments directed to an individual, not in keeping with ATop rules. Please take those discussions to a private forum. Thanks.

And no one that I know who were born and raised here, if asked, would suggest we are southern. I mean no disrespect to the South but we are Midwesterners...be that good or bad. Just thought I'd put my personal perspective on it. I've been gone all day doing my annual taking my grandchildren to get their back to school clothes and school supplies. Totally exhausted!lol Need sleep. Nite! |

I thought his reaction when he threw the drumstick after the last show in Toronto was pretty cute. Does anyone know if he actually hit anybody? I thought to myself, "yup, Adam -- sports is not really his thing." What did his Dad say during an AI interview? -- "sports not so much." omg yes i loved that moment !!! I really hope he didn't hurt someone tho . LOL !! Oh, his funny reaction after he threw the drumstick  reminded me so much of his reaction in this video after he poured the water over Longi's head (starts at 13.30), haha!  |

Too many people to quote, but of course he WANTED to win! And if course he knew that it didn't matter because he'd already achieved an important goal, but he still wanted to win. There is an idol confessional video right around top 2 or 3 that I've seen where Adam says " I think...maybe I can win this thing" or words to that effect. I have also always believed he was utterly crushed for about 5 minutes in the aftermath of the winner's announcement; if you've ever watched the finale video and seen Allison hugging him while kris is singing his victory song or something you know exactly what I mean. The look in his eyes for that short moment said it all. And then he pulled himself together and got over it and realized it didn't matter. But nothing will convince me that he didn't want to win. Up until just after the moment he didn't win, he wanted to i remember too how Allison comforted him at that moment, she was the only one, and my heart was aching for him so I was glad she understood and stood by him... Rehasing further I felt the same as irish1139 when the final 2 were announced and Gokey was not one of them, I felt so relieved and thought it wouldn't matter so much if Kris won, as long as it wasn't Gokey that beat him. And I too think Sarver has changed ... |

Civil War, 150 years ago and not geography?!! Alrighty then!! Anyway, MO was a border state and fought on both sides. Here is the geographical description of the southern states. MO, no. AR, yes. I was wrong about OK. AZ defined as a southern state is just wrong. It is about as SW as you can get! I taught Geography.
