For me, Beth was too short. A few lines of a song. Plus it was KISS. Ugh! I can see it as a defining moment but not a Top 10 performance. I like the defining moments idea!

I agree mys*&@^#r, so for my one change on this list let's take Beth out and return If I Can't Have You.
10: If I Can't Have You - Yvonne Elliman 9: Titanium - Adam Lambert duet 8: Born to Be Wild 7: Feelin’ Good — Nina Simone 6: Tracks of My Tears - Smokey Robinson 5: Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin 4: Whataya Want from Me - Adam Lambert 3: A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke 2: Mad World — Tears for Fears 1: Ring of Fire — Johnny Cash
Remember that for the game you can change the list more than once but only after someone else has made a change and you can only change (delete/replace or swap) one item at a turn. I am enjoying all the whys behind everyone's changes.

Thank you, Linda! I was going to add in If I Can't Have You also, because it was the very best example of what he told Simon in the Hollywood round about how he wanted to take a song and twist it up and surprise everyone. Simon gave him a dismissive, "Good for you" and Adam said firmly, "I can." And he did!

His interpretation if IICHY kills me, tears! And Smokey's standing O was everything! However, I do think MW has become Adam's song & belongs in the Top 10, at the top!

10: If I Can't Have You - Yvonne Elliman 9: Slow ride - Foghat 8: Born to Be Wild 7: Feelin’ Good — Nina Simone 6: Tracks of My Tears - Smokey Robinson 5: Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin 4: Whataya Want from Me - Adam Lambert 3: A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke 2: Mad World — Tears for Fears 1: Ring of Fire — Johnny Cash
If we are going to have a duet, one from the completion timespan would seem appropriate. And besides, I enjoyed it much more ;-)

So difficult to make up a top ten list of Adam's Idol performances. Partly because he gave so many amazing performances, and partly because what criteria do you use? The best vocal technique? The best interpretation/innovation? The most interesting visually? The most impressive demonstration of his upper range? The most daring? The most emotional impact? Our personal reactions to the performance? The most significant in terms of long range impact? (Then you would have to put Bohemian Rhapsody at the very top!)It's a challenge, to be sure. And how many other Idol contestants would even HAVE ten stellar performances on the show? Come to think of it, how many pop stars would have so many great performances live that one couldn't pick just ten? Just parenthetically, the "Britney Spears is lip-syncing" meme has surfaced again. An article published yesterday said that in her Vegas show, not only were you hearing a backing track instead of, or in addition to her lackluster vocals, but the backing track was actually Sia's original studio recording, not even Britney's voice. Doubt that folks will be in deep philosophical debate over HER top ten live performances. WOW! What a great idea! May be we can have "the long term impact" list/ discussion tomorrow? Q3? THAT would be a very interesting list, it should include not just AI of course... off the top of my head: BoRap (AI auditions), MW (AI), ROF (AI), WATC(AI), FYE (AMA), QAL EMAs, QAL iHeart... We'll do that tomorrow! But for today --- I plan to send our final list to PopDust as a fan list version -- and I will include proper/factually correct stories for each song.

Quoting myself because I just realized what the article said in the beginning.. so does that mean after 4 songs into the concert, people were going off to see the other acts?? :-/ Hundreds??! Did anyone who was there notice this happening? I hope it wasn't so obvious to Adam or the band if that's true. A few hundred people moving about in a crowd like that would not be noticeable IMO. There were thousands of people there. Think about the size of a baseball field, the field was wall to wall people plus all the people in the stadium stands. Yes, this always happens for the multi-stage festivals. And the Pixies are very big in Japan. I am surprised that only a few hundred shifted. Similarly, people shift the other way after they hear some of another band.

10: If I Can't Have You - Yvonne Elliman 9: S low ride - Foghat8: Born to Be Wild 7: Feelin’ Good — Nina Simone 6: Tracks of My Tears - Smokey Robinson 5: Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin 4: Whataya Want from Me - Adam Lambert 3: A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke 2: Mad World — Tears for Fears 1: Ring of Fire — Johnny Cash If we are going to have a duet, one from the completion timespan would seem appropriate. And besides, I enjoyed it much more ;-) Oh no! I lost Aftermath. I will not put it back in. But I am not sure that Slow Ride is really a Top 10 performance. Sorry, but I am putting Sparkly Beth in! Seriously, it was the most beautiful he ever looked and he made singing with KISS good. That is an accomplishment. JMHO. youtu.be/RavWNxSOfmA10: If I Can't Have You - Yvonne Elliman 9: Beth - KISS 8: Born to Be Wild - Steppenwolf 7: Feelin’ Good - Nina Simone 6: Tracks of My Tears - Smokey Robinson 5: Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin 4: Whataya Want from Me - Adam Lambert 3: A Change is Gonna Come - Sam Cooke 2: Mad World — Tears for Fears 1: Ring of Fire — Johnny Cash

It isn't really all that surprising that they have proceeded to Perth with alacrity. The Aussie weather (11-13 Celsius at the moment) is much more suited to a Brit than the hot and humid Tokyo. They are probably more focussed on resting and getting up-to-speed with the Pacific time zone, which is more and more of a priority as you get older. I bet Roger and Brian have been to Japan so many times in their life that they aren't as excited about it as casual travellers would be. (Adam and Rufus might not agree LOL) Who knows what mysteries the night sky might hold for Brian if he takes a late night drive a couple of hours out of Perth. The wonders of the world are not necessarily written in neon. Indeed! Beautiful! (But there is some neon in Perth at the moment. Lady Gaga is there too, she has a show tomorrow.)
