I have always liked Katy for obvious reasons haha. But she seems different to me then the other pop girls. More grounded and modest. She's always liked Adam too, and endorsed QAL so that's good too. She hasen't got the strongest voice live. But ask anyone other then Adam Lambert, people don't generally go to concerts to here their voices. I have always wanted them to collab. I like them both and would love to see them perform together. *** I am tired of recorded collaborations. I am pretty sure that the trend is finally cooling off. ETA: Also Katy said she would not pay to play on the Superbowl -- publicly rejecting the NFL's greedy idea of have someone pay them for the Superbowl slot. They are likely to get very good ratings for the halftime show and it will be a big production.

OMG! Loved Katy's show! Maybe your friend is not a Pop fan? It really was spectacular and Fun from beginning to end! BTW, Katy doesn't actually wear skimpy outfits. By Pop star standards, they are quite covered up! Some are very tight though! I thought Katy's show was great, too. And IMO she is a great choice for the Superbowl halftime show. So is Katy Perry going to give all that money and whatever other conditions the greedy NFL wanted to do the Superbowl halftime show? ETA: Q3 I just saw your post above about KP saying she wouldn't pay the greedy NFL...so does that mean she gave in and paid it or did the NFL take away their demands?

The NFL refused to comment to Billboard. I take that as confirmation that she did not pay, and they gave in. My guess is she is getting paid + expenses and a big production budget -- probably from Pepsi. As of now, the deal is being negotiated. But with Rihanna out and the NFL working hard to keep Sponsors happy, I think Katy is a sure bet for them. Here's one report.

All this talk about being close to Adam makes me wonder a bit about what the UK concerts will be like. They are a more typical set-up for Queen -- GA Floor with seats on the sides and behind. I opted for seats -- but that means I will not be very close. I hope I am not surrounded by "sitters". Q3 in Chicago we were sitting in the first tier and the minute the curtain went up we were all on our feet and no one ever sat down until the end of the show...well except during the middle part when Adam wasn't on stage. I thought I didn't want the floor because everyone would be standing and I couldn't do that but the minute the show started I never once felt like I had to sit down...the time just passed too so quickly!! But being in the tiered area I could see where on the level floor area since I'm short I probably would have had a hard time seeing anything. I was happy with our seats.

I concur with your experience. I was in a great seat right across from the thrust around three rows off the floor and NO ONE was standing. I was on the end seat so I could step out and stand but it felt very lonely and no energy. I was so happy when I heard that those on the floor thought it was fabulous and high energy and the videos are certainly great I attended one concert and sat on the Plaza level -- Detroit -- I had great seats, we had a great time, but it was a very different experience. I had to ignore the fact that so many people were sitting. I am certain that was the loudest crowd of any concert I attended but they were pretty quiet where I was. It was like they wrote rules for behavior -- if you want to stand and dance, buy a floor seat and don't use it. I do think there were more Adam fans on the floor up front and the Adam fans were much more lively than the Queen fans. **** ETA: The AOBTD from Toronto July 28th was also an excellent one -- particularly the dance moves in the last minute or so. I am still partial to the IZOD concert audio -- that is the venue that was draped up top and some of the recordings are so clean. I went to both Toronto shows and at the first show it was odd how many people were sitting. At the second show there was a different energy and people were on their feet for the entire show.

As happy as I am to attend two Queenbert concerts in Germany next year , on the other hand I admit that I was also a little bit frustrated that the GA has only standing tickets everywhere here in Europe! I know this is very common here in Germany/Europe for all pop- and rock-concerts but I had a little bit of hope, that they would perhaps use the same seating plans as before and sell seats for the GA here, too! I sooo wanted to buy good seats at the thrust to see Adam close at least one time in my life!!! We have good seats for both concerts now, too, but of course not that close like it would have been directly at the thrust or the stage! But the standing tickets wouldn't have been an option for me because with my handicaps I'm much too slow to run to the front row when they open up the doors, lol!!! Sigh!!! It seems that I will never get the chance to see Adam close and up front because there are no seated front-row tickets available here also for his own concerts! BTW, although we have seats I will of course stand and sing and dance the whole time during the concerts! I also did this in Helsinki and tried to animate all the "sleeping pills" around me! I remember that my DH was amused how enthusiastic I was, lol!!!

Betty, I've never seen Adam close up either. And you have the most wonderful husband! I'm off to bed now. Good night and good morning!

And I was there too! Just loved every second. Only trouble is - I can't remember this bit. In fact, when I look back at videos of the shows I've been at, I always end up thinking, ' I didn't see this' or ' I didn't hear that'... ...even though I am absolutely glued to it all. Does anyone else have that problem? Please don't say it's just me.. It's not just you. It's called a "Glam Coma!" Very common! Then we had so much fun at The Standard having our midnight snack! I have had twice a serious glam coma! First time M&G with Adam and second time at MSG where I had a very incredible seat (see the arrow in the picture). When Adam strutted on catwalk ... I have to watch vids again and again to remember those magic moments (damn glam coma!)
