I believe that note only surfaced when we got a stripped version of "Aftermath" where some of the overpowering instruments were removed. In the then audible vocals he hit that B5. But that would also be in the studio, and a total one-off. Good memory. If you eliminate the studio sessions and look at just what Adam sings in live performance, I think you have the best representation of "usable range." In many shows, Adam sings down to a C#3 or a C3 and up to an F#5 or G5. Consistently, in every show of any length, he sings E3-E5, so I would say that is the range he is most comfortable and confident in and can sing without any strain on his voice. I think that is what makes Adam so unusual -- he stays in the range where he does not have to strain and can then control the volume/power, color, etc. I can think of Jazz and R&B/Soul/Gospel vocalists who do this, but not rock vocalists. The polar opposite is Axl Rose -- an absolutely amazing rock vocalist -- he pushed the boundaries of his range to express angst, emotion, pain and power. It is a completely different approach to singing vs. Adam. When people talk about the great rock frontmen -- here are a few that come to mind, in no particular order: Freddie Mercury Robert Plant Steven Tyler Joe Perry Axl Rose David Lee Roth Rob Halford Trent Reznor Ozzy Osbourne Thom Yorke Eddie Vedder Kurt Cobain Bono Mick Jagger We are not talking about vocal range -- we are talking about a total package of charisma, vocal dominance, and power. IMO Adam Lambert belongs on that list -- but not solely because he is an incredible vocalist, but because he has learned how to control the moment when he is onstage -- and leave a vacuum when he leave the stage. He had all the skills and talent before Q+AL, but now he takes the stage knowing he will leaving owning the audience. I did not see this "ownership attitude" in London Q+AL 2012, but it was there at iHR 2013 -- and that was a mostly pop and urban music audience, not friendly territory.

SophieB......it's just YOU! lol j/k. Yes, often you're just overwhelmed and can't retain it all. It's sensory overload. Thank goodness for videos to relive it over and over. The Forum was my favorite concert I attended. Like mys*&@^#r said he seemed happy to be playing at home. Plus, this was the only show where I was front and center. The closer you physically are to him, the more memorable the experience IMO even if every little thing audio wise or production wise isn't perfect. The audio is important, but equally important to me are the Adam visuals and him having fun. Being at the end of the thrust in Chicago was also a huge thrill because we didn't know what was coming when they placed "the couch" right in front of us. I thought the audio at the Forum was excellent! I have that full concert video DLed on my phone & it is fabulous! Have been to the Forum several times & was unimpressed. This was the first show since the remodel for me, and IMO, they did everything right! Even their staff was fabulous & fun! I think the Forum was perfect too. I went to another show there this year and the acoustics were horrible, but for this show, they were perfect. I still think WWTLF was the best at this very show. One part I do remember was when Adam yelled "That's Brian May!" That was so cute.

Yes we were! The Forum was my favorite show! He was so happy to be performing at home and the audience gave so much love! Will always remember how thrilled Brian was to be there too & his face as he left the stage at the end. And I was there too! Just loved every second. Only trouble is - I can't remember this bit. In fact, when I look back at videos of the shows I've been at, I always end up thinking, ' I didn't see this' or ' I didn't hear that'... ...even though I am absolutely glued to it all. Does anyone else have that problem? Please don't say it's just me.. Believe me, it's not just you. The only part I really truly remember from Detroit is Adam's first strut down the catwalk. He was a vision. All else is a blur. I know I was there, I think.

Confused about what all those notes are when we talk about range? Want to know YOUR range? Try singing along with this brief video. Notice the notes that you can sing comfortably and confidently. Note also when you have to strain uncomfortably to hit a note. Those notes are not functionally in your range, as you cannot depend on them or sing them consistently without straining your cords (which is a bad thing). How'd you do? www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IejHKpfHso

And I also agree, the venue staff was the best I've ever witnessed. Very accomodating and friendy. That remodeled lower floor area was very nice. The only negative thing I can say about that nite was Adam's KQ bell bottomed jeans were too loose in the butt, but looked very hippie/glam rock from the front. lol Those britches, like the white ones, never made a return. lol

At the time, I didn't notice (or remember). I did notice that he had new red gloves & gold ones too! My DL is either from DanceyGeorgia or Vistadiva. Let me see if I can find the link. ETA: Try here t.co/bpBiQPzm7rWe were not happy in the front row at the thrust. That was the ONLY venue where they actually had an aisle between the front row seats and the end of the thrust and there was a parade of people all through the concert moving right in front of us regardless of whether Adam and Brian were performing. They needed their drinks and bathroom breaks. Then there were those that used that aisle to stop and take selfies with Brian or Adam in the background. In a way, I didn't care because it was my first concert and I was so thrilled. But all around me there were unhappy people who paid a lot of money for seats that felt like Grand Central Station.

Does anyone have an edited mp3 DL for the IZOD concert that can be made into a CD or any of the concerts besides MSG, or the 2 Vegas concerts that I have now? I would like to make some CD's that could fit the wole concert on one CD by having been edited. I was wondering if there were any DL's available. ETA: Oh! I see Bamafan's post with the link for downloads! What a treasure chest of mp3's/mp4's!! Thank You!!

At Toronto2, I had a seat right next to the catwalk and it was such a memorable experience. Unlike theosgma's situation, the seats were right next to the barrier, completely blocked in so that no one could rush the stage or get in front of me. It was a total immersion experience which has probably spoiled me forever. It also made me realize that we will have another completely different experience to look forward to (most of us from the comfort of our own home) in the UK/EU concerts - floor standing only. It will be interesting to see how/if the performance dynamic changes.

He was a vision. All else is a blur. I know I was there, I think. We saw him at the first Mohegan Sun. I truly thought I was prepared. I had watched all the videos...seen him live on AI tour, GNT, and last year in Orlando, but I never had such great seats before. When he did his strut down the catwalk, my mouth fell open. This was not the same man I had seen before. He came down that ramp like a panther...strong and powerful and a thing of grace and beauty. His voice was just as powerful as his walk and I was gone. Later, when we watched some of the videos, I commented on how thrusty Adam was in AOBTD. My daughter and grand daughter just looked at me. They couldn't believe I hadn't seen him do that live. They had both gasped at those movements. I honestly don't know what happened to me. I must have gone into the Adam coma LOL. I know I participated cause in some of the videos, I see myself yelling with my hands cupped around my mouth and clapping so hard. I can barely wait to see him on his A3 tour. My daughter informed me she will take nothing less than seats that close again. Already started my A3 fund!
