I agree with koshka and gabriella..I could not put my finger on it but something did seem off...Adam sounded amazing...looked incredible...and was awesome but somehow the chemistry seemed off...Adam's look was right on and vocals were beyond words...I was spellbound when I heard it and saw it..could have been the tv vs live no tv Partly it was because it was 2D not 3D. And I think it was partly because we are used to seeing STL in the middle of a set -- and in a longer, more loose version. Since this involved other singers it was more tightly arranged and Adam did not get to play around vocally like he does in concert. What was odd to me is that I have watched it more than once and I only hear Adam singing. It is like that whole chorus was not even there!
I was wondering if the contestants' mics were off.. especially when Adam does that sustained part "can anybody find meeeee" and the guy to his left tries to sing with him, then gives up.. couldn't hear the guy at all..

Thanks, guys. Someone had to sacrifice themselves and go to this..... Anyone else? Thanks, guys. Someone had to sacrifice themselves and go to this..... Anyone else?Oh yes... You have to celebrate New Year's with a like minded soul. Calling on UK Atopers! With only 2000 tickets ...those will disappear fast. That credit card is going to buy your Xmas present early. But so worth it. Don't worry - I won't be the only Atopper there!......

I thought Adam looked like he wanted to do the multiple spin thing that he does in concert with the fringe, but was holding back on doing that.

Some random thoughts of excitement this morning: * RCA suits weren't totally wrong about Adam covering 1980s rock music. Good match for the music. Wrong approach. * Now we know why we had not heard anything about Adam playing NYE anywhere. Hush, hush, top secret. * Come January 1, 2015, I don't think people in the UK will be saying "Adam Lambert? Who's that?" * If BBC1 is live streaming the concert, does that mean the UK radio stations will play Adam's music now? * Amazing PR leading up to release of A3. UK X Factor, NYE on BBC and around the world, successful North American and European tour getting overwhelmingly positive reviews. Don't think Adam will need to travel around to radio stations to do promotion this time around. * The media response to Adam singing lead with Queen has shifted from "How dare he?! Who the hell does he think he is? Queen are just money grabbers. They should have retired long ago," to "re-energized Queen, revitalized; with a powerhouse vocalist, the only one capable of standing in Freddie's shoes, Freddie would be proud," and "superstars Queen and Adam Lambert." INDEED!!!!! Such true facts. This is what the fans have always wanted for Adam. Recognition which he deserves and is entitled to, on so many levels. * The media and the public are FINALLY realizing that he is a phenomenal vocalist! Oh, did you not realize that he is not just about the gay, eye-liner, and nail polish? Surprise! That boy can SANG! I am in a very happy place this AM. After such a drought, this is a sparkling fountain of joy.

TravelBert @jazzrocks3
If he had sung WWTLF in addition to STL they would have all flailed to oblivion!

Just want to clarify that the XF was live, not taped. Someone quite a few pages mentioned it was taped. Also, I thought Brian's energy was a little low. When he talked, I thought he sounded a little hoarse. Maybe he was a but under the weather. But Adam was amazing & I could definitely hear the contestants except during the parts when Adam was obviously going solo. All in all, I thought it was fabulous! 3 hours until we get it on AXS!!

I too thought something wasn't quite on par last night. The performance was great, I've watched it probably 7+ times. Vocals and timing as excellent as usual. For me, it was the transference from concert stage to TV stage. Adam tends to be bigger than life when he is on stage. I felt like he was conscious of where he was on the stage because he could roam like he normally would or do what he normally would do on the big stage. In the short time they had, I think it was tough to highlight Brian and Roger doing what they do best. Plus, I wonder if he still feels like he has something to prove in the UK? I didn't get the sense he was as free flowing as he is in concert... I agree and disagree to an extent. I do think that Adam feels like he has something to prove and he definitely succeeded if that was his intent, even if it was specifically for Simon Cowell. With respect to Brian and Roger, I hated that they didn't ask Roger a question but I do think that they got their fair share of camera shots. I didn't expect any more than that. Frankly, they know Adam is their bread and butter and their vehicle, and without him, they wouldn't be able to perform at this caliber in 2014-2015. It's all good in my book. He deserves the accolades that he's getting at this stage of his career. I also think that his stage movement was limited due to logistics and the other contestants, but he did the best with what he had. No complaints or criticisms from this Queenie! Having been a fan of Queen long before Adam came along, if you watch any of the Queen vids with Freddie, he was definitely the highlight when onstage with the others. Queen has said long ago, it was fine with them that Freddie got all the spotlight, as it freed them to focus on their music playing. Watching Live Aid gives a perfect example of this. Brian has said he likes sharing the stage, with Adam. Perhaps Adam knew last night that the contestants are less than him, vocally and didn't want to take all the attention away from them. Which he did anyway.

SophieB posted a Youtube earlier from last year's NYE concert with Gary Barlow. That was a fan video. Here's one by one of his quests...Alfie Boe....singing Dont Stop Me Now....how appropriate...LOL.....taken from the BBC1 broadcast. It'll give you an idea of the filiming for BBC1. I'm so excited that we can hopefully watch a stream. As far at the TV broadcast part.....I know lots of us here get BBCAmerica, which I have never watched. Is there any chance that it will be broadcast here either live or delayed on BBCAmerica? Their current line up looks like crappy old US TV shows. As coincidence would have it, I was at Alfie's concert in Liverpool last night - at the same arena QAL will play in Feb. Alfie's great but I found myself thinking he could do with a bit of gold fringing or some hip thrusts....it's Adam's fault.
