shoshanna stone @shoshannastone · 3h Fascinating fact: I have never worked on New Year's Eve before. poor, poor Shosh...she'll have to sacrifice this time and be at the QAL NYE...I weep for her... talking about family purists: my 21 year old DS refused to come to MSG on the grounds "it's not Queen"... he listens pretty much exclusively to rap so it was purely on principal... my DD did come and enjoyed it, but did not come out a fan of neither Queen music nor Adam ...she is into EDM... oh well...

I've been loving everybody's comments for the past few days, but I'm such a deep lurker that I didn't post anything. Still, the fact that they chose Somebody to Love for the X factor performance - which is, along with TSMGO, my favourite QAL collaboration - meant that I would again plunge into reviewing videos from the NA tour. Joyous, joyous place! And, even though I liked the Xfactor version, one of my top 2 has got to be this rendition: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zluRcrAp5cQDo you remember those jaw-dropping moments from Toronto? Loooooooooooooord, ain't it fabulous? I'm stunned and thrilled every time, and I must have seen it a hundred times. Sending you lots of love! OK, going back to lurking, hehe I remember - I was there - swoooon swoooon fait a little - die a little TY for reminding me. I was there too and this still gives me shivers.........in fact the whole evening was one highlight after another!!!!!!!

Guys, I really tried to get my brother on the QAL train but it's not working. I sent him the X Factor link on FB and here was his response: "Well, Brian and Roger were really good. Just can't get used to Adam. Sorry Col, I'm a Freddie snob." I guess the only saving grace is that he was nice about it, LOL. I tried! Did you tell him Freddie was dead? (Seriously though) Maybe XF not the best intro for him. Has he seen WWTLF? Even Freddie snobs have said Adam sings it better!

Milking the audience for more applause, and taking his time to strike the opera diva post before that final run. Wonderful singing and wonderful camp! Mark Bowles has done a multi-cam version of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBff078Wb7E&index=15&list=PLLUOVdQ-in7hS3cYn51IGWyNoRJMJAdvG

I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome in yesterday's thread. Now seems like the opportune moment to ask a potentially stupid question that I've been curious about for the past few months: When/where did the term "Melvin" originate from? This has been a topic off and on, yet no one can actually remember. A month or so ago, I lamented not being able to search Twitter because I just knew the question could be resolved there. A short time after, a saw an article that Twitter was preparing an app that would make searches easier but in the mean time other apps were suggested. I used topsy.com/ and bookmarked the site and searched for Melvin but didn't post about it then. I tried various search parameters and the earliest mention of Melvin that I could find was this tweet on June 25, 2011: It doesn't really explain anything but maybe one of the @s in this message might know. Linderella, who I still see around, is one of the follow icons in the tweet, so maybe .....
