When was it...not too long ago....we were talking about the Amish thing. Can't remember when he had a similar Melvin. Saw on Twitter where somebody asked "What do you call a half a Melvin?" and Chunkey said "Mel?" LOL.

I am making an early New Year's resolution. I am not going to stress about, read about, or argue with those who don't want Adam fronting Queen, or worse, don't like Adam at all. As unbelievable as it seems, there are people I am unable to enlighten, and folks who don't appreciate my brilliance and musical acumen. There are even evil, deranged, black souls who relish attacking all that is light and good, and spewing hatred. Even armed with my light saber and using the force, I cannot defeat them all.
The fact is Queen with Adam just sold out a North American and Asian arena tour. They are getting all kinds of great press about their European tour and NYE performance. The reviews are mostly ravingly positive, and Adam is being touted more and more as the vocalist of his generation. He has well over 2 million twitter followers. He is on the cusp of releasing a third album.
Bottom line: there are plenty of wise and discerning people who love and appreciate Adam. He is getting recognition beyond his wildest dreams when he was eighteen, and just wanted to be on some stage, somewhere, in some part, in order to be happy. His mother is never going to send him another gift card from Trader Joe's so he won't go hungry. And I will be able to see and hear Adam's brilliance for years to come.
My resolution: FOCUS ON THE MANY POSITIVES WITH ADAM. ENJOY!

Amen to that Cassie! But my ignorant enemy is living next door and I love him very dearly. This makes it hard to ignore

Guys, I really tried to get my brother on the QAL train but it's not working. I sent him the X Factor link on FB and here was his response: "Well, Brian and Roger were really good. Just can't get used to Adam. Sorry Col, I'm a Freddie snob." I guess the only saving grace is that he was nice about it, LOL. I tried! Did you tell him Freddie was dead? (Seriously though) Maybe XF not the best intro for him. Has he seen WWTLF? Even Freddie snobs have said Adam sings it better! Yup he knows. I even sent him a DVD of performances but he hasn't watched it yet. I think he's super reluctant to give in! I'm not sure he ever will. However, someone else on my feed just shared the X Factor link on FB and said nice things!

Amen to that Cassie! But my ignorant enemy is living next door and I love him very dearly. This makes it hard to ignore I didn't say it would be easy. I have two sisters with musical training, who went to the QAL Chicago concert and, tho they acknowledged it was a great show, and Adam is a great singer, are not his fans. STILL. We cannot choose our relatives. Or our neighbors. Sigh.

This makes it hard to ignore For me, I want to be able to selfishly discuss it with my brother but that's not going to happen! Oh well, he and I share the love of the other guys. I guess it's better than nothing!

I've been loving everybody's comments for the past few days, but I'm such a deep lurker that I didn't post anything. Still, the fact that they chose Somebody to Love for the X factor performance - which is, along with TSMGO, my favourite QAL collaboration - meant that I would again plunge into reviewing videos from the NA tour. Joyous, joyous place! And, even though I liked the Xfactor version, one of my top 2 has got to be this rendition: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zluRcrAp5cQDo you remember those jaw-dropping moments from Toronto? Loooooooooooooord, ain't it fabulous? I'm stunned and thrilled every time, and I must have seen it a hundred times. Sending you lots of love! OK, going back to lurking, hehe This is one of the best STL - I sorta feel like we should be sending this out on the twitter verse to all our UK friends. I mean, if they thought Adam was great on XFactor, they should hear this version!

You know the type. Who knows, maybe they are just in the closet about Adam.

He did get me hooked on Queen though when I was a kid so I am grateful for that.

TY for reminding me. I was there too and this still gives me shivers.........in fact the whole evening was one highlight after another!!!!!!! This is my favorite STL. That loooooong held note. Milking the audience for more applause, and taking his time to strike the opera diva post before that final run. Wonderful singing and wonderful camp! Mark Bowles has done a multi-cam version of it. www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBff078Wb7E&index=15&list=PLLUOVdQ-in7hS3cYn51IGWyNoRJMJAdvGjust look at Brian at 4:58! The joy!
