Let's take a peek at Adam's Twitter status, shall we; it has him predicted to hit 2M in 561 days, at the current trajectory, but I have a tendency to think the more you have, the faster you tend to build. twittercounter.com/compare/adamlambert/month/followersHere's an interesting tidbit that someone told me yesterday ... prior to Katy Perry's second album being released (last July) she had about what Adam has now: around a million followers. Now she has 6,866,744 in nine months. Granted, she has had a WILDLY successful album, but even a fraction of this would be AWESOME.

A little treat to start out your day. A while back we discussed synesthesia on the thread. This is the ability that some people have to actually SEE sounds, and SEE music. Thought to be due to some strange connection of synapses in the brain. We wondered what Adam's voice looks like. Angelina Kalahari, who yesterday had an online radio broadcast about Adam (which will be replayed at 5 pm EDT today and the rest of the week, allegedly) is one of those people who sees sound. I asked her about Adam's voice. Her reply read like poetry to me. I asked her if I could share it with you here on ATop. She was a little nervous that she might be ridiculed but I assured her that y'all would be fascinated and appreciatively supportive. With that assurance and because she, like all of us, wants to do all she can to promote Adam for all he is and does, she agreed. So without further ado, here is her reply. Enjoy. Angelina: "Okay, I will do my best, but it’s difficult to describe everything, because the colours change all the time. The thing that’s most astonishing to me about his voice, is that it is harmonious - not only in sound, but in colour and shape, too - at all times! I’ve never experienced a voice like that before! "The overall colour of his voice when he speaks is a kind of glistening sea-green/aqua, sometimes emerald green and his voice makes rounded shapes - there are never any spikes. His laughter to me is shiny, sparkly gold and silver bubbles." ME: For example Soaked vs. IIHY. Angelina: OMG SOAKED - I’ll try to give the overall colours, but in truth, there are so many, I’d have to do it almost note-by-note. The song starts off as a kind of shiny silver colour, then on ‘and you’ve had enough’ it swirls into a deep shimmering violet, which becomes almost a kind of royal blue and then purple, into a very deep, dark velvet red on the ’someone NEW’ head voice note, and it ends in a soft sparkly rose at the end. It makes every hair on my body stand up! "IIHY - starts off as a kind of light orange/yellow and it looks like someone’s thrown a pebble in a pond, then it turns to a glittery green on ‘if I had you’ - ‘the flashing of the lights’ turns into a baby blue/white/yellow wavy shape - when Adam goes ‘Jump, Jump’ on the new DVD for example, it’s huge golden balls. "My favourite song to listen to when I’m down is Sure Fire Winners, because the colours are outrageous! Almost entirely bright orange, canary yellow, lime green and vibrant royal blue, and it looks like someone’s thrown paint all over a huge matt black wall! It's a total mind-fuck!" So, there you have it. Does anyone else see a connection between the colors Adam likes best - rich jewel tones- and her description of Soaked? Or the colors and images on the video IIHY and her description? Coincidence? Or might Adam SEE sounds too? Hmmmm. That was beautiful! It's so wonderful that each person has his/her own sensibilities and talents and Angelina's gift is amazing. I'm a pretty down to earth, see it to believe it person, but I've met too many incredibly talented, specially gifted people in my life/travels to ever discount someone's unexplainable abilities. She's a fortunate woman.

And, Mr. Chamillionaire (who seems to really be a statistician) believes that 10% of ones followers are really actively following. I have actually thought about this when thinking about sales for some artists, like Katy Perry, KE$HA, Gaga and the ratio seems to make sense, to me. :-/

I find Angelina's imagery fascinating and can "see" what she does through her vivid descriptions. In particular, the color palette and rounded shapes of his speaking voice seems so consistent with his persona. I would not be surprised if Adam sees or otherwise connects sound and color. Next time questions are solicited to ask him during an interview, this would be a good one IMO. A performer who recently discussed how she sees the colors of her songs and its effect on her costuming is Lady Gaga.

Skylar, one part particularly caught my eye... Google translate does as "great" a job as it did with the Grenade song with Nikka Costa.... LOL "is a native of Finland and swinger" ;D ;D Actually the Google translation was surprisingly good. I did my Master's thesis a couple of years ago about Machine translation and it seems the programs have developed quite a lot since then. Of course, they are not perfect and never might (will) be... Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't think about doing a quick translation of the article when I posted the link but I was at work and in a bit hurry... :-[ And since I'm new here, I don't want to step on anyone's toes (for example, don't know if you have some sort of agreement about who does translations etc...) Learning all the time... - Mia - No agreements here, Mia! If you bring something up feel free to translate it if you want to. Just jump in . Most stuff is translated by riinukka (twitter name) and links to her LJ pages are pasted here. So most of the time I don't bother to translate the linked stories unless someone asks/ or I have some extra time/interest to do so. There are not so many of us Finns here (at least active ones) and I'm no expert in translations. I'd rather tell what a story is about instead of a word to word translation, call me lazy ggg.

I have actually thought about this when thinking about sales for some artists, like Katy Perry, KE$HA, Gaga and the ratio seems to make sense, to me. :-/ There are certain bots that are marketing bots. Marketing people follow whomever the bots follow. And if you are followed by people that don't clean out their account (most don't b/c they like the follower count), then the bots they have follow you too. So it definitely snowballs. The marketing bots are out in full force these days. Since the beginning of the year I have blocked AT LEAST 15 bots a week. Before that it was about 5-10 a week. Sometimes I don't block them and they either disappear b/c they delete their accts or unfollow you b/c you haven't followed back. Last week I got a couple of gay porn bots. I was curious what would happen if I didn't block them. Just as I thought - more gay porn bots. Chamillionaire's guess of 10% is probably accurate. edit: I just looked at my followers. I got six followers overnight (I guess 15/wk was a low estimate). All of them are marketing. In a few minutes they will be blocked. In the beginning of the year I ran a program that tells who you've blocked. I have blocked over 800 accounts. Just imagine the junk in the accounts of people with thousands of followers.
