Hi, guys. I thought I'd join the AI conversation. I've never been a regular watcher but have seen most of the Hollywood shows and now the two top 24 shows online. They have been a number of years behind the times in getting full episodes online. I usually can't watch the regular aired times. It was great that the kids got to pick their own songs--even contemporary ones for a change.
At any rate, the top 24 seem much more deep in talent than usual. I normally only like a few of them. This year there are only a few that I think are not on par with the others. In general, I think the guys are stronger. There are only two I would definitely eliminate after these performances: the cute little Bieber-like boy and the guy who danced with JLo (pitch problems there).
There were more girls I was not interested in and more pitch problems that went unmentioned by the judges. I'm guessing nerves came into play. Shi was one of them. That raspy voice is going to explode at some point. She sounds like vocal nodes or other problems are in her future.
I never vote, but will be interested in how this all pans out. I'll probably keep watching on weekends. I don't know what day it will be on when the reduce to one day per week.
I do like the judges this year. They are not uncomfortable to watch.

I think the boys go deeper, without a doubt. But I think the top 3 girls might be better than the top 3 boys. IDK, it's close. besides the 3 girls I mentioned above, my top 3 boys are Quentin, Rayvon, and Nick. Sadly, I think the tweens will put young Daniel (talented but not ready for prime time) through, probably Trevor too and we will lose Nick and Rayvon early. :(

OK,only 4 Rayvon, Nick, Quentin, and Quasim deserved to get through those other 4 just no. Sorry but Clark was way out of his league and slaughtered Tracks Of My Tears

Though I do have a soft spot for Adam. He is so out there! I kind of liked the blond country singer - sorry to see him go and Jennifer's favorite guy who did not pick a good song was a better singer than some of the others. I liked the geeky guy as well. Such great positive energy. Cannot stand the Beiber boy taken the spot of a serious contender. I mean he is cute and likable and probably will hang around due to the tweenies but honestly, if he comes close to winning, I am out of there. I remember from some film or other when a young guy was trying to make it with an older lady, she said it was like eating a green cantaloupe. LOL Very memorable.

Ah, I kind of like young Daniel -- he makes me smile like a cute enthusiastic puppy dog would. He is very musical; but I must agree, I don't think he should go too far. I was surprised that mini-Keith didn't make it through. He seemed to be the only country guy. I'm glad Quentin made it. I noticed he took his nose ring out, so I hope that small change makes him more appealing to your average viewer and helps him go farther in the competition.

Theosgma, I totally agree with you on the "Beiber boy" I think his name is Daniel. He is too young, not ready yet and looks like is about 10 and this thing he has about Jennifer is weird. My feeling is that all the judges knew he was too young and frankly there were some in the Hollywood week that were much better that should have made it through. I think the blond country singer's last name is Briley. He and Savion were better than the 4 I thought should not have made it. I thought Idol was gonna be much better this year but I have been kind of disappointed. I don't know if it is the rushed feeling with it being one hour this year or what but it seems disjointed.
Quentin, just looking at him, reminds me of Jimi Hendricks. I just think he is different and he has a good voice. Quasim is a showman but don't quite know about his vocals. Rayvon's voice is just smooth as silk. Nick is good I just don't have the adjectives for him as the others.
The way the vote went for the boys, I'm a little worried about the girls. I like Sarina Joy, Jax, and Tyanna Jones. I really hope that girl who calls herself Shi or She however you spell it doesn't get through and take a spot from someone else who deserves it.

I am at an ashram (retreat center) with no TV. Look forward to hearing about the girls. Please post when it is decided.
