I find it very, very sad when people think that being known as an incredible voice is somehow less than being known for writing music. They are two different things and one is no less than the other. Why on earth should it be considered a disappointment for Adam to only be known as one of the most incredible voices in the industry. That wasn't a problem for Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Pavarotti, etc. You know I've watched a lot of crap movies and TV over the years just because an actor or actress I loved was in it. When a great actor is in a crap movie people might moan about why they chose that part but they rarely say that it made the actor any less talented. I love the songs Adam writes and I'd love for everyone else to love them too but I'm a fan of his voice and other artistic skills first and foremost. So why would Adam being known for his voice be any less of a draw than being known for his songwriting. I was a fan of David Bowie because his image intrigued me and I liked his voice. To be honest I didn't know or care whether he wrote his songs or played his own instruments or not. If I'd had any money to spend on records then I'd have bought them. I was a fan of Bob Dylan before I ever heard his voice because I liked his songs sung by other people. When I actually heard a recording of him singing, I laughed my ass off because I thought it was atrocious. Only became a fan of his performing after watching him in interviews talking rings around the press. His intelligence made me hear his performances differently and begin to appreciate them. Wouldn't have paid money to hear him sing before that regardless of how great the songwriting was. I guess my point is why would being known as one of the greatest voices of this generation be considered something to look down on or somehow undesirable. Nobody said that being recognized by quality of his voice is bad or lesser to writing songs.

interesting... I hear absolutely nothing unusual or different during both interviews... I guess my own surroundings are such that I perceive Adam's intonations absolutely "normal" ... I know I am being as contrary as hell today and I am not sure why, but the "ssss" sound in this video is purely the recording. It is a hiss and not a lisp. I think I need a massage. No you don't. Just not feeling this whole thread but that's fine. Scroll is my friend.

To me it's just occasionally he says 'so' with his lips forward and tongue against his teeth. I always thought it rather cute, never thought of it as an affectation. I assumed he just grew out of it

I agree with you and I think It's another way of putting Adam down ,another hurdle for him to jump.As He has said himself ,he is either loved or hated . It's not being said of other singers like Katy Perry,RiRi,JT, Carrie Underwood or others who don't usually write all of their own music.. They all keep song writers very busy.
