I agree mys*&@^#r...but he DID say it and we do know....can't undo things... In some ways, that is exactly my point...and if he wants the world to love and accept him as we do, he has to be a little more reticent about saying/showing these things. If that 'world domination' is not his goal, then, CARRY ON.....we will continue to love him regardless. All I am trying to say is that it really is his choice to make... now for sure, BBL Sorry to disagree here but world domination is NOT achieved by bowing down to the masses. It is achieved by sticking your ground until the masses come to you. Madonna, Bowie, MJ, Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, U2 all became iconic by being and doing their own thing, not by dumbing themselves down to appeal to the masses. They won their audiences and that is what Adam has been doing all along, winning his audience by being true to himself as much as he could be. His voice is his instrument and that is what wins him fans. For me his music IS his voice and I could care less what the instruments are doing. I like some arrangements better than others but to me that is all production as far as I'm concerned and doesn't make or break the song for me. But everyone listens to music for different things. People who are dance oriented care more about the background, the beat, the grove. People who are guitar fans care most about the guitars, etc. For me a song is all about the lyrics, the vocal, and the emotion. The reason I don't care what Adam sings is that whether the song is his or someone else's and no matter what the lyrics he can make me hear it in a new way every time he sings it. I love the songs Adam writes because the lyrics make sense, are thought provoking and full of complexity. But to be quite honest I will still be an extremely satisfied fan even if he decides he is no songwriter and just sings. Because whether it's an original he wrote, or a song someone else wrote, or a cover we've heard a zillion times whatever he sings is still uniquely him. He is no less of an artist singing a song someone else wrote than he is singing his own songs. I find it incredibly insulting to him when people insinuate that he's not a real artist because his songs are not "hits". That's NOT what defines an artist. Sure I want him to be successful and I'd love to see "world domination" but if it doesn't happen it is not an indication that he is not a great artist. There are incredibly gifted artist all over the world who NEVER achieve fame and recognition but none of that devalues their art. Also when did people forget that "entertaining" is in itself an art. Being able to engage an audience is an art form in its own right. Being a songwriter or a musician doesn't automatically make you an entertainer. That showmanship is art as well and no less important than the material. The greatest songs can still be crap if the performer doesn't have the artistry to communicate them to the audience. So yes we do defend him based on his voice because saying he isn't any good because his own songs aren't hits is a crap argument. I don't have to like a song to recognize the talent of the artist performing it or the person who wrote it. That's something people seem to have a hard time with. It's easy to say something is crap when we don't like it but just because we don't like something doesn't make it bad. What she said

Maybe painful, but just the plain truth - IMHO WHAT? REALLY? From Webster: CHARACTERFUL
: having interesting or unusual qualities : having character Full Definition: 1: markedly expressive of character <a characterful face> 2: marked by character <a characterful decision> Adam's music is not "CHARACTERFUL"? It is just the OPPOSITE! -EVERY song (with the exception of the idiotic singles) is FULL of CHARACTER! Name one NOT characterful (aside from the singles - those are most definitely "not characterful" and perhaps those are the only ones the author heard )! INDIVIDUAL
: of, relating to, or existing as just one member or part of a larger group : having a special and unusual quality that is easily seen : intended or designed for one person HOW is this applicable? the variety of music on his records is what bothers the public? if nothing else - that quality IS "individual"... In other words - HELP! konata - I haven't seen you posting in a while! WELCOME BACK! Thank you Nica. I knew this was a criticism, but it made absolutely no sense to me- As you stated. his music is full of individuality and character. Could this actually be a criticism of the average music listener?? In other words his music hasn't skyrocketed because it is not like the 'cookie cutter' productions people have come to expect from current pop singers. I'd like to think that is what he really meant.....

I was reading this and looking at the comments . Obviously someone stirred up a a sh!t-storm before removing their comment Couldn't take it huh! Anyway, what I did see was this; Used to watch Adam live into the wee small hours live on idol. He just blew me away. Saw him in Glasgow O2 small venue in 2011 and that was magical. Sad not to see him in Newcastle as the accessible tickets are all gone and I would not want to go without my friend who is disabled, took him to Glasgow and he love him.

Not sure if it is this person because it was a little confusing. There was one that contacted him but then he posted about the tickets again after that and then another different twitter user was confirmed as receiving the tickets. But at least someone did get them and they will be used.

Knowing Adam's willingness to adapt, it would not surprise me if he cut the sleeves right out...doubt he would wear it as modelled...jmo

I find it very, very sad when people think that being known as an incredible voice is somehow less than being known for writing music. They are two different things and one is no less than the other. Why on earth should it be considered a disappointment for Adam to only be known as one of the most incredible voices in the industry. That wasn't a problem for Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Pavarotti, etc. You know I've watched a lot of crap movies and TV over the years just because an actor or actress I loved was in it. When a great actor is in a crap movie people might moan about why they chose that part but they rarely say that it made the actor any less talented. I love the songs Adam writes and I'd love for everyone else to love them too but I'm a fan of his voice and other artistic skills first and foremost. So why would Adam being known for his voice be any less of a draw than being known for his songwriting. I was a fan of David Bowie because his image intrigued me and I liked his voice. To be honest I didn't know or care whether he wrote his songs or played his own instruments or not. If I'd had any money to spend on records then I'd have bought them. I was a fan of Bob Dylan before I ever heard his voice because I liked his songs sung by other people. When I actually heard a recording of him singing, I laughed my ass off because I thought it was atrocious. Only became a fan of his performing after watching him in interviews talking rings around the press. His intelligence made me hear his performances differently and begin to appreciate them. Wouldn't have paid money to hear him sing before that regardless of how great the songwriting was. I guess my point is why would being known as one of the greatest voices of this generation be considered something to look down on or somehow undesirable. It is sad but I haven't gotten the impression that anyone here was implying that he is less of a musician. However, that mindset does exist be it as not a writer-can't be a musician, don't play an instrument while you sing-can't be a musician, or haven't slogged the dives for years with your band-can't be considered a worthy band. Same old dick waving, just different versions.
