I just got off the phone with my brother and was telling him about all the pink nail polish melodrama. We laughed about how often he had his 6'2" frame in girls' clothing in high school. First of all, he was Mr. President of everything and Captain of Tennis, Baseball, and Cross Country teams as well as being smart and popular. But he was always a Powder Puff (Homecoming week) cheerleader, he performed in a band at a talent show that came out dressed as girls then when the lights went down became hot guys in tanks and cutoffs, not to mention being in 2 school plays were he played both male and female characters, once in the tightest white spandex pants I had ever seen, totally embarrassing our grandmother. Now he's a dad who coaches little league but at the same time held onto both his babies in the hospital nursery from the time they were born until they went home. AND, when he was 8 or 9 and I was 4 o5, he let me paint his nails as often as I wanted and told any of his friends who gave him grief to buzz off. Moral of the story, you are what you are born to be and outside of some traumatic event, no amount of gender "inappropriate" behavior is going to change that.

The "dork" is this guy: Dan Gainor @dangainor Alexandria, VA. VP of Business and Culture for Media Research Center @the MRC, nondenominational Christian, FoxNews.com freelance columnisthttp://www.businessandmedia.org. His original tweet was this: dangainor Dan Gainor This proves our case: Adam Lambert Sounds Off On Critics Calling J. Crew Layout Transgender Promotion bit.ly/eGOv3U2 hours ago Ever since, he's been engaged in a type of conversation with a number of Adam fans (and some familiar faces there ). His basic point is that the ad promotes a leftist agenda and contributes to tearing down "traditional" American values and families. Most people are arguing with him quite smartly and articulately. And LOL, he and Neil have gone back and forth a few times.

Or more likely, sampling gay Internet porn I'm convinced that these type of people are the freakiest of the freaky. They are the ones who demonize sex so they keep it salacious. I read 25 years ago, when the Jimmy Swaggart story broke ... I was doing production in Hollywood and much time is spent waiting around. They had every magazine imaginable. Everyone was talking about THE Penthouse exclusive, so of course we all read it. One of the quotes was something like, "The pornographers and the prudes are the same people." That resonated with me (obviously, I remembered it 25 years later). And I think it's true. The hyper-vigilant and religious demonize sex at every turn, but so often, they're nailed in some huge controversy. LOL: I think it's part of their kink meme to keep sex salacious, sekrit and durty. Their judgments drive me insane. Like how dare you make this sweet, beautiful moment between a mom and her son some kind of downfall of human civilization? I could, of course, go on, but I'll refrain.

It's probably time for his prayer circle. Or more likely, sampling gay Internet porn I saw you poke yer head in over there *thumbs up* I was quietly laughing to myself watching the feed as the Glam Swarm arrived - but in a good way. All good, intelligent replies and questions to him, but I couldn't help think about what he was experiencing (his feed ain't that busy normally ya know) and him going WTF - who are these people...lol Normal story *ho hum* post Adam's name and the world stops by

Hi guys! I know it's been a while, but really need to talk tonight. Just one of those days. Just talked to my youngest son, who is stuck in Honolulu, waiting for a delayed flight back to Kona. He had a steriod epidural done one his back today, which turned out ok, although he's still in some pain. Had to go to check out his flight. So relieved he's ok. He had surgery on the same disk 6 years ago. Ongoing problem. Hope this works. Still hasn't called back. :(
Listening to my Adam Live CD right now, and crying. He brings out so much emotion for me, as he does everyone here. But, tonight, for a different reason. So happy my son is alright, but sorry he's having to wait to get home.
Got a call from my sweet Daughter-In-Law a few hours ago. Her dear Grandma just passed away. She was such a sweet, gentle woman. I feel privileged to have known her, and I loved her. She was such a gracious lady. She had been on dialysis for at least 6 years. My DIL's heart is broken. Mine is too.
My DIL lost her Mom only 7 months after she married my son. Her Mom was only 47 years old.
Listening to Adam usually calms me. Tonight, it just makes me cry. It's a good thing, I guess. I wish I could be there for my son & DIL, but I'm many miles away from them now. This is my oldest son and he couldn't even call me, told my girl to call. He is so *broken open* right now.
Sorry to go so OT, but I just needed to talk a bit. I'd appreciate any good thoughts and white light for a beautiful woman, Phyllis. She was a very special lady and I will miss her forever.
Just so sad right now. TY for listening. How appropriate right now........*Soaked*. Sigh..........ILHSM
I do have some thoughts on the gender thing, but can't express them tonight. Tired & sad....

awwwww glittergma, so sorry to hear about your DIL's grandma. :-[ Must be very difficult if she's already lost her mom. I can offer a wee bit of encouragement about your son though - my mom has been receiving steroid epidurals every three months for years...she had a spinal fusion which worked for a long time but eventually the pain returned and the steroid injections became necessary. He should be fine in a little bit....a bit sore going in but he'll get tremendous relief. Chin up!

Bless your heart, Gma. Life can be so sad. The voice of this man - and the voices of the people here, who understand us - who are here at their computers, late at night, or in the early hours - calm and console and inspire and reassure. You are not alone. Love and loss is universal. We have found a voice that cries as we cry. Soars in ecstasy as we find love and pleasure in our ordinary lives. Your pain and sadness is vividly understood - with color and texture - as we continue to weave the tapestry of life. Wish I could wipe the tears.
