Just heard Cook's new Ryan Tedder pop single -- and if they do anything like that to Adam #2, I will get ill. Adam is in a different genre and is headed in a totally different direction from Cook but still -- RCA could also release a generic pop "ready for HAC radio" song for Adam. (Although I really doubt that RCA is that foolish!) Message to the Universe and to AFL -- so not be deluded into the safe pop path. It is a cul de sac. :( wow, I really can't believe that this is the best first song they could offer up, given the long delay with his album. Really disappointing and I like Cook. I think he is a really sweet guy and talented but I was struck by how meh (in every sense) this song is. Are his stans happy with this?? I'm with you Q3, I'll cry if anything on Adam2 sounds like this.

This was the make-up artist on Idol She is the one that is now engaged to Simon. So, from March - May 2009, this is probably all Adam was using. I think he is really a MAC guy.

FYE doesn't sound like David Cook 1. They are such completely different artists. I am hoping that Cook is very successful so that the Idol 2nd album curse (sans Kelly) can be broken. After Archie's major fail, that is what worries me. How much of a fanbase do Cook and Adam have? I never questioned Adam's fanbase until recently and that is only because of the poor sales of Aftermath remix. :-/

AfterElton doesn't agree that the Gaga album cover is camp; says Adam needs a "gay refresher course." LOL. Okay. Reminds me of our ongoing analysis of "camp." www.afterelton.com/meme-04-18-2011I think one of the reasons that people will not swallow the camp idea with Gaga is that all of her interviews lately have pointed toward her taking herself too seriously. Adam laughed off the reactions to the FYE cover and declared it camp himself right away and so the media kind of followed his lead. But with Gaga out there saying those protrusions on her body are real and not prothetics it gets harder and harder to see what she is doing as camp. If she never drops the persona it changes the way that it is perceived. Because we can see Adam in many different ways it is easier to see what are the exaggerations but Gaga gives us no reference points because she hides her true self. Thank you!! that is what I was trying to say yesterday but failed miserably at. Gaga isn't campe because camp is "in on the joke" where I don't think Gaga thinks it's a joke. I haven't heard her say in interviews that the protrusions are real... is she really saying this? ??? that's ridiculous IMO if true. Adam does his OTT things with a wink and a smile to let the audience/media know that he's laughing right along with us at the whole thing. that's why we can enjoy it... it's permission to be goofy.

I understand what you are saying, but I want radio play for Adam - I think it's essential for success - I think WWFM got a Grammy nom because it WAS a radio hit and was heard. No matter how great a song is, if it isn't heard, isn't that a waste? I'm not saying every song on Adam#2 should be radio friendly, but surely two or three would be a good thing. And I think he has fun with his "poppy" songs. So I think - BE SERIOUS but also BE HEARD. 8-) ETA: I always think of Pink as kind of a model for Adam. I hope those he is collaborating with are not so far out that the music is ignored. I have never heard, or heard of, a couple of the ones he is working with. Is that a good thing? :-/

" ...and I wear black 2(x)ist underwear. They fit really well." OK - hands up all who went to their website! Two hands up if you ordered some for your SO ! I remember a discussion about these undies on another site from a long time ago. Isn't this brand favored by most gays and designed to display certain parts prominently in front? HAHA Good research and/or memory Coke ! The front panel does seem designed differently than Hanes.

Re: Cook's new single. My first impression ---- what is he saying/singing? His voice is so covered by the instruments I have a hard time distinguishing the lyrics. My fervent hope is that Adam is true to his word and keeps the vocals of Album 2 front and center and in your face. Arrangements like this would just suck!

The thing about Cook's single sounding the same as so much other stuff out there (which I agree with) is that it seems that's what gets played. People love the familiar. I can't imagine anything on Adam2 having that sound. Maybe Adam bucked Tedder & that's why he sounded just a little bit disgruntled? I can only hope.
OT - I detect a lack of enthusiasm from Cooks fans for the single. Oh most say they like it but there's little OMFG IT'S AWESOME, which is what I would be saying if I loved Adam's new single. With more !!!!!'s though. To be fair I only checked mj's & twitter.
I agree totally about the voting myspenser. A give-it-all-I've-got try for 2 more days! And sad about the AM Remix sales. Doesn't speak well about the size of the core fanbase. I'm really perplexed about that since it certainly wasn't unaffordable.
And this I totally agree with!
