Possibly, chunkey (about Aftermath.) But in my mind, the "devoted fanbase" would buy it no matter what. If that is the case, then I would say his core US fanbase is around 5,000. Maybe I am wrong. He toured the U.S. and hit spots that filled that many seats in one venue. He's sold over 800K copies of his CD in the U.S.,over 1.6 million singles of WWFM, 300K of FYE and 800K of IIHY not to mention 24K of the Live DVD. you said maybe you are wrong but can you clarify why you think Adam only has a core fanbase of 5K people in the U.S. because that number seems way off to me. I think Adam will have a much easier time getting radio play this time around because he won't be coming off an ill fated initial single (FYE) or having to answer questions about a controversial performance instead of talking about him album/single.

Thank you!! that is what I was trying to say yesterday but failed miserably at. Gaga isn't campe because camp is "in on the joke" where I don't think Gaga thinks it's a joke. I haven't heard her say in interviews that the protrusions are real... is she really saying this? ??? that's ridiculous IMO if true. Adam does his OTT things with a wink and a smile to let the audience/media know that he's laughing right along with us at the whole thing. that's why we can enjoy it... it's permission to be goofy. newsfeed.time.com/2011/04/15/quotes-lady-gaga-on-her-weird-cheekbone-protrusions/“They're not prosthetics. They're my bones. They come out when I'm inspired. They've always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am." She's lost it. OMG she's ridiculous :

Rushed? Hasn't it been almost 2 yrs since his last album? That doesn't sound very rushed to me unless I am wrong here. yikes guys. I was talking about his first post Idol album. This new album was a long time in the making. I'm obviously not making myself very clear so I'll bow out of the conversation now. Hope ya didn't think I was yelling at you? LOL it's ok I was just confused, it's ok. =)

Could the low sales for the remix be that, well, people were just kinda sick of it? We had Aftermath the album version and then the acoustic version followed back to back with the remix. Add the fact that it's not the best song on the album, imo, and maybe people were just Aftermath fatigued. I'm sure when new music comes out it will be diff. What he needs is a really strong lead single to get ppl buying the album and the more success he has with his first single the more likelihood his other singles from Adam2 will get radio play. Possibly, chunkey (about Aftermath.) But in my mind, the "devoted fanbase" would buy it no matter what. If that is the case, then I would say his core US fanbase is around 5,000. Maybe I am wrong. I am sure that Adam will have at least 2 (hoping for 4) radio friendly singles on the new album. And since CHR has already played him, I think they will be more receptive. Also, maybe I am in the bubble, but he just doesn't seem all that controversial anymore! So maybe even stations that resisted, last time, will jump on the bandwagon. The devoted hardcore fans who would have purchased the remix are only VERY small percentage of a fanbase. Personally I think between the remix EP, the AL EP, and the Aftermath remix RCA has plenty of evidence as to the extent of the hardcore fanbase. Traditionally this actually accounts for a very small percentage of an artists fanbase. I think Bono once said something like less than 5% of their fans are hardcore online fans. Add in the sales of Glamnation Live which did very well for a DVD release and I think they have a good handle on what to expect for Adam's next album sales. From all of RCAEd's comments they seem to be very happy with what they are seeing and Adam seems to have pretty free reign right now on who he is working with. I am not going to ever bother with trying to predict whether Adam will outsell FYE or not because I think the only important thing is that he meet RCA's expectations and it seems he has been doing that quite well so far so I see no reason to think he won't continue to satisfy them. I think RCA has a much more reasonable idea of what they can expect than anyone from outside the situation can have. There have been absolutely no rumblings of discontent from the label that I have seen and they certainly would not be planning a global release for the next album if they weren't happy with things so far and confident that Adam would deliver.

DC2 is over 2 1/2 years in the making. Very much the timeline that Daughtry had. Release is set for June 28th, 2011. DC1 came out in Nov. of 2008. So closer to 3 years than 2. Ya, I am somewhat disappointed because I wanted to be really excited when I heard the first single, like I was with FYE. The one thing that has me nervous about DC2, in relation, to Adam 2 is the timeline. I really hope we don't have to wait until next year for the new album. Fall would just be the best release time. But if Adam isn't ready or if RCA wants to sit on it, like with Kelly's new album, what can we do about it?! Not a damn thing!

I'd been wondering about this for awhile. I wouldn't be surprised if Adam's hardcore, super invested, online everyday, buy-everything segment of the fanbase is around 5,000 in the US. His charity water contributions were around 5,700--and the difference in amount raised for the Trevor Project vs. charity water might have to do with the amount of $ spent per person, not the number of people doing it. (Of course some folks made multiple donations/purchases, but someone on another site analysed this for the charity:water campaign, and only a small fraction of the donors were doing this). I do think the fact that many countries couldn't buy the remix off AO impacted sales, and that the charity aspect seems to work better if there is some competition or ability to write notes/record names involved as it encourages ongoing activity/donations. So obviously casual fans and new fans are vital buyers, so I agree with everybody about the lead single. If you want to see an interesting comparison of the differences a lot of single radio play can make in bringing in casual fans, look at the differences in how fast Bruno Mars overtook Adam in twitter followers: twittercounter.com/compare/BrunoMars/Adamlambert/3month/followers

rihannsu, nothing about my post says that I think RCA is not happy with Adam. I didn't even mention RCA. I think they are thrilled with their international super star!
wonderstruck, I am guessing based on the DVD and Aftermath single sales. I know nothing. Just guessing and speculation. And, when I say, core fanbase, I mean hardcore US fanbase > the people that will buy anything and everything from Adam.

The DVD has sold 23K or so to date and the Aftermath remix is hard to guess since it was offered on AO for the charity and I don't trust their tracking numbers at all. I am a hardcore fan and I don't buy anything and everything.

Why compare ??????It's again I got 98 on a test where are the other 2 points.. Lots of angst today... Adam tweet a photo.. quick.
