And try to avoid getting stuck in the Adam-youtube vortex. ;D Commonly known as the rabbit hole. ;D It's unavoidable, though. Before you even notice, you're down the rabbit hole and you can't get out of it until much later. Not unless the bunny has a really powerful vacuum cleaner on. ;D I know that's the phrase to use here on ATOP, but somehow it never seemed quite right to me. "Rabbit hole" always brought to mind getting lost in a maze, but (to me) didn't have the "getting sucked in whether you like it not" implication. Hence, "vortex". (Besides, my hubby and I both use the term, and he isn't a glambert. Yet. Maybe after the Singapore concert...) Cassie, thanks for gathering all the videos here - which makes it impossible to resist playing them. You evil genius. :twist:

Thank you Cassie. As for notation, he is using the 'Two-line octave' one and he wrote "the best tone in his voice is c2 - f2". Sorry I wasn't being clear enough. He was referring to Adam's high notes. He thinks that of all high notes that Adam can sing the best lies in between c2 - f2, especially e2. And he also thinks Adam is a world class singer. Well, he likes a vocalist with big voice who can sing very high but sing it really good. That's why he only mentioned his high notes. He also said Adam's lower registers though good were less impressive because of lacking enough resonance and power. But this was right after idol was over. After he got to listen to Runnin he was totally blown away but he thinks there are never in million years Adam is able to sing Runnin the studio version live (apparently he is questioning Adam's ability of producing that A2 with equal quality of the studio version, and also of singing from so low to F5 in one song live). He may be right about the range on Runnin. A singer would warm up differently to sing at the bottom of his range or the top of his range. At least I certainly did when I was cast to sing an alto part in a musical. I also had to concentrate on a different way of using muscles etc. But I am not a pro like Adam. I wouldn't put it beyond him. I wouldn't put much beyond him vocally. He continues to amaze me. ---------------- If we are talking about singing high notes much beyond the natural break in their voice, pretty much. ---------------- ---------------- That is the stunning thing about My Conviction, IMO. Adam's tone sounds so operatic and so feminine. I can only figure that he is somehow increasing the high harmonics and decreasing the lower harmonic resonance of his body. What is humorous is that he switches back and forth from a male to a female sounding voice. Yup. A good example of the difference between a more rock sound in Feeling Good, and a more legitimate, classical sound in WWTLF, IMO. A good Bb5! Amazing. ----------------- Sigh. Randy said the same thing. Actually, randy called all of Adam's high notes "falsetto." I guess is just a lack of knowledge about formal technique?

[/IMG]
Plus, people just assume that anything that high must be falsetto. For most men it is. ;D

For most men it is. ;D Adam is a freak of nature. ;D I think it's also widely assumed that any soft, kinda breathy sound has to be falsetto. OT - Your comment reminded me of the opera aria "Credeasi, misera", which has a F5. Not many tenors can hit that note full voice. I remember Pavarotti did it in falsetto.

The mixed voice thing. I got it now;). Thanks a lot. I guess it is just impossible for singers to sing lightly and softly in mixed voice ;D Behold
