Just thought I'd share this, stunning vocals Lande! He's considered to be one of the best hard rock / heavy metal vocalists in the world. I know he's done a lot of projects, but I mostly knew him from his work with Avantasia (The Scarecrow, etc.) I didn't know Beyond Twilight before, or I don't remember ever listening to one of their songs. Very interesting, thank you Glampoon!

Oh and that song has as much range as Adam does on Runnin'!!! (A2-F5)

Fresh Meat!!!! Soundcheck from Kiev. Fantastic crystal clear audio and gives some insight into the difficult life Adam's sound guys have ... much easier to mix singers who want stuff muffled because they sound like shit live I'd imagine. soundcloud.com/gala-teya/partial-soundcheck-before

Thought this might be of interest to the vocal MC folks. Young kid on The Voice Oz last night has very Josh Grobin like tone - classically trained (he was in Australian Boys Choir). Like Lazzaro on AI this season he has a stutter when he talks, but he has a lovely voice. A few wobbles here and there but is young and adrenalin and all that. Curious to see what you think - hopefully you will be able to view: (he starts singing at about 2.40) www.youtube.com/watch?v=kgflbGzlCeY

There is something very soothing and natural about it. He gets a tad nasally occasionally... something to work on. He also has a way of infusing emotion and interpretation into the song, not just sing the notes and words. Very pleasing.

So I just got home from seeing Josh Groban in concert. Not really a fan of his music but had opportunity to go so thought why not. He played same venue as Adam did here in Melbourne. Was interesting to hear someone who is considered to have a great voice and got to say while he can certainly sing, there are whole parts of his lower register where you totally lose the lyrics of what he is singing (especially on anything up tempo) - they get lost in a kind of vibrato muffle. He also has very little transition between his chest and head voice, is more like a flip from one to the other.
We always say how extraordinary Adam is live but it isn't until you see others who would be considered vocally in same league that you really get an idea of how good he really is.

Isn't that the truth? I was playing CTMBTM for a friend who thought it was very pretty, but didn't get how extraordinary it was. So I pulled up a couple of YTs of other professional singers doing it, including the broadway cast. I pointed out what these other singers were doing and not doing, then played Adam again. It was very eye-opening. At 22 years old, that gorgeous voice and wonderful interpretive ability was already front and center.
