Don't know why that frownie face keeps showing up? I am not posting that, just to let you know, lol Figured! Don't know why it pops up at times. Often does when tweets come over, but periodically random. #goodtoseeya! The smiley face emoticon from iphone doesn't come over as a smiley for some reason.

Don't know why that frownie face keeps showing up? I am not posting that, just to let you know, lol The BB code that produces that frowny face is ??? Whenever anyone types 3 question marks in a row, the frown shows up instead. ??? Perhaps the code for that particular smiley can be changed in order to prevent accidental placement of it? It also appears when someone copy-pastes smileys from Twitter. I have no idea why that happens.

Nic42 - hugs from me too. I sincerely hope and wish, those of you who predict it will be only a 3 day thing, with Frankfurt counting as one of these days, is right and all will go according to plan from then on out. Tbh, I am actually surprised, that this doctor did not take out both Brussels and Milan for Adam, for a bronchitis. Stuttgart is an easy 2-3 hour drive or 25 minute flight from Frankfurt, that could be done on whatever day, as best for him. Twice crossing the alps, with altitude, dry air, landing in Milano with bad city smog, I have to say, I never had to do that on a day I had bronchitis. Cannot be a good thing. But I now read that he is already in Italy, so it's a done deal at this point. And of course, I am happy for all Italy concert goers, if he can sing and they can have a great show. The reason, the rest of the continental stations are now two days apart, is because the distances are much bigger going forward. No more just 3 hours bus rides, these are almost all in the 10 - 12 hour travel range, because they now start zig-zaging wildly through Europe. Once they are in UK, things go back to normal, but next few concerts are very far apart. If even one person on these buses is sick, it can be quite difficult to keep the crew healthy too. While I understand, that crew people are just a tiny tad easier to substitute than Brian or Adam, having one or two sound engineers out, or some of the other key people that we don't know about, can be quite a challenge too for any tour. I hope that all can stay healthy, and all goes well for them. But I think we need to try to send chicken soup and best wishes to this whole crew as well at this point. The weather was cold and often windy and crappy in Europe over the last few weeks, and these guys do load ins and outs all the time, with being outdoor one minute and indoor the next and they don't get to fly to the next destination, they ride buses and trucks. So, my best wishes to Adam and the band and the whole crew traveling with them or otherwise involved. Since they are flying in a private plane they can make him a lot more comfortable and I'm sure the doctor would have been consulted about whether flying would be safe. During the Elevation tour when Bono was having a lot of voice issues he used a nebulizer mask during flights so instead of the dry plane air he was getting a breathing treatment. Adam at least is well used to the rules of vocal rest as a theater performer. He has talked in the past about the rules for show days being no unnecessary vocalizing and text only phone usage. Doubt anyone has to tell him to shut up. Bono on the other hand is a lost cause when it comes to shutting him up, LOL.

^^^^ rihannsu, lol, these Bono tidbits are hilarious!! How do you find the time - I'm swamped trying to keep up with Adam!!!
To paraphrase Brian, I think, he said Adam delivered far more than was necessary in these concerts, which is perfectly true. Adam takes them to astonishing levels.
Maybe the way Frankfurt was delivered vocally (without sickness, loss of energy, full set list) is what would typically be expected for a strenuous show and tour? Casual fans were still highly impressed. We just know what Adam can do, and what he has done night after night.
In terms of the mechanics of cancelling a show - I know there is insurance, but how does that work? Fans get their money back. But is it, no play, no pay for the band? Does anyone know?

I don't actually know, but I would assume that is the case (re:band only gets paid if play). Play or no play I also assume the rental for the arena is still owed along with the nightly salary of the army of vendors, security, etc who were scheduled for that day. Roadies and others are still on the payroll, etc. So, I would *think* that a canceled show means that not only does the band not get paid, but they need to pay out-of-pocket for the costs incurred. I'm sure someone else has a more definitive answer than me, tho'!

Ha, I don't follow Bono and the boys nearly as closely as I do Adam. I did before Adam came along and most of what I mention is from back then anyway. So far the only recent U2 activity hasn't really clashed with any of the Adam stuff and I'm not going to be able to make any of the U2 shows this summer. As for insurance there are multiple instruments on many sides, venue's insurance, promoter's insurance, artist's insurance, etc. They will duke it out as to who ends up paying what. The band will maybe still loose a little but only whatever their deductible would be I guess.

Here is a really nice, plain English explanation about how tour cancellation insurance works.... www.kelleydrye.com/publications/articles/1477/_res/id=Files/index=0/1477.pdf
