I guess I missed the tweets from Shosh re any changes in UK roll out schedule. What are the changes? Why are we talking "plan B"? Why the assumption of "UK radio not on board"? No one knows why the schedule was changed. People are speculating. We know that GT will not be released for sale in the UK on June 7. We know the album will be released on June 15 as planned. We know GT go to radio mid-June... There are a lot of tweets -- in the thread already. Here is the critical one. I think this is related to when Adam is going to be in the UK which he said will be in June. ETA: Since he is in NYC on June 19th, seems like UK, France and Germany may be after that? I would think they would have him on US TV for at least one other performance and/or interview album release week. I still don't see any change in the UK strategy. "mid June" is neither here nor there... We know the June 16th is the drop date in the US, we know he'll be in NYC on June 18th and June 19th, we know elsewhere in the world the drop day is June 12th - all of these dates fall into "mid June". Adam said he is going to the UK after the radio promo in Chicago and NYC. We know Chicago is sometime next week....Do we have dates for the NYC radio? May be he'll be in the UK the first and/or second week of June? and then back to NYC for the drop date...

I think I will keep my mind on AMERICA for now...Love all the PR Adam has been getting...it's like a love fest. He has only been on TV,where he really "Shines like a diamond' once.. So lots to come. Radio has been great for GT. I'm very happy and satisfied with the way the roll out is going.. England is a bit in the near future..BTW England seemed to fall in love with Adam when he appeared with Queen. IMHO,..Right now It's about Ghost Town, Youtube,Spotify Shazam, etc. That's where my focus will continue.... I love what's happening here and now oh let's not forget Central Park.. I mean really glorious. No angsting for me..I'm off to my happy place see you in a day or so.

It is hard for me to see a path in the UK for Adam -- at least with "Ghost Town". I can see how he would have a better shot with the Tove Lo collab depending what it sounds like. Can you explain why you think GT won't work in the UK? Take this will a big mountain of salt. This is just my opinion. It is not so much GT, it is more about US pop artists and the UK -- and specifically about Adam and the UK. >> If Adam was an urban/hip-hop artist or a indie rock artist, I would have a different opinion. But pop, and electronic Euroish pop is very, very competitive in the UK. The UK pop music market is hard for American artists -- even successful American artists. The UK pop music market is almost impossible for American artists without a big US hit. The UK pop music market is very hard for artists who appeal to adults over 25. I think any Adam solo song is going to need to be a clear hit (Billboard Hot 100 balanced hit, not just radio airplay). But the WBM strategy appears to be focused on the album and streaming media, not so much on track sales. GT is free to download, plus 2 "instant grat" track (Underground is the first). The strategy makes sense but it does not seem likely to make GT a "big US hit". Hard to be a pop star in the UK without BBC Radio 1 -- and they are mandated to appeal to 15-29 year olds. [The BBC now controls over 50% of the UK audience and Radio 1, specifically, reaches 12 million listeners a week, including 42% of all 15- to 24-year-olds but the average listener age is over 29 and that is an issue.] BBC1 works hard to keep artists whose fans are mostly over 30 off the playlist. The work hard to figure out what appeals to younger listeners and regularly research the music opinions of 12-29 year olds. If GT is lucky enough to be one of the 40 songs on the BBC Radio 1 playlist -- the weekly plays are very low compared to the US and so the impact is not as big. The BBC1 playlist is has 40 tracks for repeated daytime play (A-list tracks get 25 plays a week, B-list 15, and C-list eight to 10). A top song on a US CHR station could get 140 spins a week. GT would need to get on the radio on BBC1 and on Capital to be a UK pop hit. >> I don't think think UK is impossible for Adam or for "Ghost Town" to be a hit in the UK, but if they want it to go beyond fans to pop music buyers, they need radio.

Tove Lo just has a single impacting on BBC top 40 and two idols are in the current chart too. www.bbc.co.uk/radio1/chart/singlesQuestion for our UK and other folks who can't buy GhostTown until album release. Can you listen to it on Spotify? or is that blocked for countries where the song hasn't been available for sale?

Yes, all we can do is wait and see. On Capital, they have posted GT teaser and video -- and tweeted about them. Since the song has not even been serviced to UK radio, there is not much else they can go. I was thinking of the Tove Lo on-air interview....just happened May 11th.....where she talked a lot about working with Adam and the duet. Regarding requesting GT, since it is clearly not on any playlist, really unlikely to play it. Beyond unlikely, I would bet Capital London has not played a track "they don't have" once in 2015. **** It was easy to see the path in the US for Adam. They have to get US radio on board. They are making great progress. It will not be easy but so far, so good. And it is going to require a lot of attention. >> The US is likely to generate 60% of Adam's/WBR revenue and has to be the first priority. Plus, a US artist who fails to sell here, usually does poorly in the rest of the world. US success give region managers the support to make local investments needed for international promo. It is hard for me to see a path in the UK for Adam -- at least with "Ghost Town". I can see how he would have a better shot with the Tove Lo collab depending what it sounds like. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 'serviced to radio' in this context but, as far as I know, it was made available for radio play in the UK some time ago as per Shosh's early tweets to UK fans. Certainly I know of a handful of local radio stations which have been playing it, most notably one in Newcastle which had it as their "song of the week" recently - I'm their star listener ETA: At no point, as far as I know, did Capital say that they didn't have GT. Shosh told UK fans right back at the beginning that GT would be available for radio play between the world release date and the UK sales date. UK fans have been requesting GT from radio stations in good faith and they've been scouring playlists waiting for GT to pop up. Oh a "star listener"!!

I will never understand why getting Adam on radio, even after he has everything in place and a label who supports him, is so difficult. GT is a great song, so much better than a lot of the crap on radio now. His vocals are flawless. He's a great entertainer. He's funny, articulate and great to look at.. Maybe being a pop star is just too small a box for him.
