I also noticed the gay contestants last night on The Voice. I also was thinking that Adam has made a real change here - not just in that the producers and NBC are "allowing" it - I suspect Idol would have "allowed" it also in the past, just not let the person move too far on in the competition. The BIG difference is that these hopeful artists are not afraid that being open will instantly destroy all chance at a recording career. I think this has to be directly due to Adam's success. Sometimes it is hard to see/recognize this type of change since it is the absence of the problem that is happening. It is much easier to see when the problem is still there such as the horrible news stories we see of attempts to make laws to deny equality or gay kids being bullied and killing themselves, or homophobic idiots posting online. Yes, change is happening - I'm sure we would all like it to be faster, but it is truly happening We have in Finland now a reality TV program where a farmer is looking for a wife/husband/soulmate/whatever. And they have a young man farmer who is looking for a guy for himself. The change is happening www.mtv3.fi/ohjelmat/sivusto2008.shtml/viihde/maajussille_morsian/taustaa_maajussit2011?1288837 Janne on 26-vuotias maitotilallinen ja maanviljelijä Laukkalan kylästä, Pielavedeltä. Muista isännistä poiketen Janne etsii puolisokseen rempseää, miehekästä sulhasta. Janne is 26 years old farmer from the village of Laukkala, Pielavesi. But instead of looking for a woman as the other farmers (in this series of programs) Janne is looking for a hearty guy as a fiancé for himself.

lindy posted yesterday a link from an Italian article I did a translation if anyone is interested. It's really sweet adamlambert.fansblog.it/2011/05/03/adam-lambert-mostra-il-suo-fidanzato-e-la-sua-nuova-faccia-pulita-su-twitter/Here is the translation Adam Lambert shows his boyfriend and his "new clean face" on Twitter Adam Lambert showed with pride his boyfriend on Twitter. The beautiful american singer wanted to make his fans to participate in the love story he is living with Sauli Koskinen and he showed them a photo in which they tenderly hug and they dont hide their happiness. Many of his fans appreciated the photo not only for the sweetness of it but also for Adam's look, which the days before that ,had received a lot of critisism and comments of disapproval because he chose to have a moustache and a beard. Adam knowing that he didnt have the approval of the people, and because of this, he commented "Shaved. You can relax now haha." Well the star of "WWFM" returned to what he was before, but with an additional love that is blooming. What else someone would ask for? And Keyboard I really dont know about men and women's hearing. Did you try to listen to the download mp3 link that I posted? Its enhaced

mys*&@^#r have you tried earphones maybe?? Right after "good" he says "did you meet Sauli?" I wanted to see what all the commotion was about so I listened with and without headphones. I can hear Adam talking, but nothing about Sauli. Do men's ears pick up different wavelengths than women's? That's not a joke, I'm serioud. I think the answer is "yes." I am pretty sure that I read somewhere, a few years ago, that the hearing of males is not as good. And, that is not a joke.

I also remember reading something about the difference bwteen men's and women's hearing - I'm not sure it is that men's hearing is "worse" -but that they hear a different range and that it is lower than women generally hear. I think maybe women had a slightly larger range and it goes quite a bit higher than men's?

Who's not normal? Me??? Hmph, who said I'm not "normal"? (just cause I am sitting in front of my computer listening to AFL say Sauli over & over again? that's not normal?) urban dictionary 5. normal What is "normal?" It seems as though the weirder you are, the more you fit in...so that means that weird is normal. If weird is normal, then that means that if you are normal you are weird, so in order to be normal you must be weird, which makes you normal all over again. Which is weird. It is a perpetual cycle. Yeah, she's weird, but that's normal. ETA: I've listened with headphones many times eyes closed and I hear this: How are you? Pretty good. Did you meet Sauli? Yes I did. Oh yes. Great!" oh my god

I usually never hear these things, even with headphones. I'm usually like "well, if you say so" : BUT this time I heard Adam say "have you met Sauli?" so clearly. The very first time, on the original video, not the enhanced one. Weird. Either my hearing is getting better or my BSC is getting crayer! ;D

Just finished watching "The Voice" from last night. Yes, I know there is a thread for it, but this is not really about the show. It is about the fact that there were at least three openly gay contestants on the show! One talked about it directly, and two brought their partners for support and identified them as such. Two years out from when Adam was on Idol and the "is he, isn't he" gossip was rampant. Less than two years since Adam confirmed he was gay in Rolling Stone and many in show biz thought he had torpedoed his chances at a career. In this short time we now have aspiring artists on a reality TV show owning that part of themselves publicly, with no fall out that I have been aware of. In this short time we now have Adam declaring his love for Sauli, complete with a tender, loving photo, and it doesn't appear to be newsworthy. He got much more publicity with the goatee-gate. Which is as it should be, frankly. Nothing remarkable about a star in love with someone of the same gender. Much more interesting to see a star's latest fashion look. When I think about it, the change is nothing short of breathtaking. And our BB was the most instrumental catalyst for that change. ILHSFM. Cassie, you said it all. One of Adam's purposes in life: exposing the silliness of homophobia. May we all live in equality and dignity someday. I think it is coming. I agree with both of you. I can't help remembering Oprah's words to Adam when he was on her show about he was already making a difference. I think equality, dignity, and harmony are coming....just need to remember.....patience. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LACEYROSE!!

Sharing something else that someone sent to me today:
"There are just some things that make life important, like people who are special to us ... And so, we keep them close in heart and mind and spirit. Good friends are like stars ... you don't always see them, but you know they are always there."
This last part made me think of Adamtopia; we may not have met (yet!), but we are ALWAYS here for each other.
