I love the RIF idea. My son may end up a Glambert of sorts, hahaha. All it will take is the right song. ;D He already feels the vocals.
To all my "words with friends" friends:
My ipad died and so I am taking it in this afternoon. I just bought it in December. Anyway, it may take a day or two before I am back in the game, but I'll be there eventually... another addiction that some of you on this board got me into...

I also noticed the gay contestants last night on The Voice. I also was thinking that Adam has made a real change here - not just in that the producers and NBC are "allowing" it - I suspect Idol would have "allowed" it also in the past, just not let the person move too far on in the competition. The BIG difference is that these hopeful artists are not afraid that being open will instantly destroy all chance at a recording career. I think this has to be directly due to Adam's success. Sometimes it is hard to see/recognize this type of change since it is the absence of the problem that is happening. It is much easier to see when the problem is still there such as the horrible news stories we see of attempts to make laws to deny equality or gay kids being bullied and killing themselves, or homophobic idiots posting online. Yes, change is happening - I'm sure we would all like it to be faster, but it is truly happening We have in Finland now a reality TV program where a farmer is looking for a wife/husband/soulmate/whatever. And they have a young man farmer who is looking for a guy for himself. The change is happening www.mtv3.fi/ohjelmat/sivusto2008.shtml/viihde/maajussille_morsian/taustaa_maajussit2011?1288837 Janne on 26-vuotias maitotilallinen ja maanviljelijä Laukkalan kylästä, Pielavedeltä. Muista isännistä poiketen Janne etsii puolisokseen rempseää, miehekästä sulhasta. Janne is 26 years old farmer from the village of Laukkala, Pielavesi. But instead of looking for a woman as the other farmers (in this series of programs) Janne is looking for a hearty guy as a fiancé for himself. tantun I know this show, we have the Greek farmer version too. And this is awsome news. !!!!!!

I usually never hear these things, even with headphones. I'm usually like "well, if you say so" : BUT this time I heard Adam say "have you met Sauli?" so clearly. The very first time, on the original video, not the enhanced one. Weird. Either my hearing is getting better or my BSC is getting crayer! ;D I'm going to have to try again; I grabbed the first pair of headphones near my computer and they were some that came with another device and I couldn't hear it. Then I was trying to listen to the Angelina Kalahari (from devenlane) interview and had to crank it up to full blast. I was still straining; then I switched out my ear buds and was blasted, so maybe that was it. I do have a difficult time tuning out the most dominant sound; so I tend to fixate on Danielle's voice, even when it's distorted out. ETA: I finally heard it!!! Yep, it was the headphones. *kicks*Regarding men and women's hearing; I've always heard that men do hear lower registers better and can tune out higher voices (or they don't respond to them the same). That is why they can ignore women and children when they want to. My brother-in-law could tune my nephews out when they were screaming. We would look at him and say, "How can you stand that?" He would just shrug and say, "I don't know, for some reason it just doesn't bother me." I've also noticed children and animals will respond much more to a deep voice than a high voice. I've long thought Adam was akin to Jackie Robinson; the first person to break through had to be the BEST and the rest could come behind. The way things have happened and are continuing to happen is divinely timed. He had the talent and was great for casting on AI. If he didn't have the look, charisma or ability, he would likely have been passed over for another "rocker" type. What he did with the show was also a testament to his ability and they knew he was lightning in a bottle. He had the vision, the work ethic and self-confidence to fight for the performances he wanted. If he was a lesser contestant (that David kid in season 3 or 4?) who did accuse Idol of discrimination, but the thing was, he wasn't that great, as I recall. He certainly wasn't the best, so it was difficult to make those allegations stick, even if they were blatantly true. (I have no idea if they were.) Of course, all of this is happening as there is a rights movement and worldwide consciousness shift happening at the same time. It's very interesting that Google (and it's ad agency) produced that commercial and had literally thousands of videos to choose from (including Obama), yet they picked Adam for one of only about 10 different clips. That's huge.
