Sainte-Agathe-des-Feux - July 29 This info may or may not be accurate but according to various French internet sites, it's the first time this festival is being held. It will be set up in a beach area with a central stage and grounds which accommodate 10,000, an "agora" with a capacity of 5,000, and an additional site for 4,000 featuring video projection of the concerts. Tickets are $80 for access to all activities and there will also be individual tickets on sale for $50 for those wanting to be close to the stage area. The Hotel Spa Watel is supposedly right across from the festival site but please confirm this info for yourself if you intend to book. Spring - where did you book? Can you PM me if you prefer? Nice 19,000 can view the concerts.

Does anyone know what an "agora" is?

I read part of the Sainte-Agathe website and it seems that not only is this a new festival, but one that is built around the theme of "FIRE". What could Adam do with this theme....hmmmmm...perhaps a song about fire? This could be really cool!

Oh ok I just saw they are selling passports to the Ste Agathe Festival this year.
It has always been free in the past.
IF hotels are booked in this area there are many others in St. Jovite about 10 miles away.

Kichener is quite a ways but Montreal is very close. I lived in Ottawa for 6 years before moving out west and it is time, perhaps, for a visit to Daughter #1, and friends...hmmm....long way at a very hot time of the year. Can be really nasty...the humidity can kill! MsZue, you should come to the south in the summer where it can be a 105 degrees at midnite and the humidity is 95%. Now that is a killer. NO THANK YOU!! But seriously....believe it or not, it gets like that around Toronto/Ottawa/Montreal too.....first summer trip to Ottawa to visit DD and it was 38degrees Celsius and about 98% humidity...it was like trying to breath underwater....gahhhh...hate it....would never move to the south .....sorry....nothing personal.....hated the summers there....

Thinking about going to Quebec - anyone else plans to go? Is this a huge festival? from their website it seems that they usually get 5-10 visitors - is that right? LOL only 5 to 10 visitors? I sure hope you mean 5 to 10 THOUSAND VISITORS because if it's only 5 to 10 then it's not much of a festival is it? lmaooo LOL, yes 5-10k

It was always free in the past, but they have made it much bigger now and kind of following the St. Jean Balloon Fest. It will be so much fun there.
