There is a lot of difference between timing a promotion and getting supporters to tweet/post/talk about something and some nefarious plot. I do not think there is a big plot here, but Haley was the Idol story of the week this week. The 19/Fox PR folks were all over it.
I am sure that Adam thinks Haley is the best on Idol -- but he also could have been willing to help promote her -- and easily could have been asked.
ETA: I think there is a lot of merit to the "no judges" concept. Because there are no judges on Idol anymore.

just caught up on the thread.... I always feel like I should put a scroll disclaimer so here it is... ______________SCROLL ALERT_________________ 1. the Q102 poll? what a waste of time and energy. meaningless, stupid and clearly just mean to get hits for the stations website. If Adam wins who cares? If Clay wins who cares? at the end of the day this poll means jack squat. 2. I get that people here think that Adam's the sexiest thing on two legs and def the sexiest thing ever on idol but trying to debate his opinion on Haley's performance IMO is kind of strange and a little disrespectful. I say let him offer her the praise he thinks she deserves without chiming in to "correct" him. 3. I think Adam and Co are endorsing Haley because she's the best singer they've had this season. She's a good performer and she's gotten shit on by the judge's consistently despite her superior vocals. I don't think there is some ulterior motive, especially by RCA artists (Kelly and Adam) to endorse an artist who won't even be signed to the same label. back to your regularly scheduled programming ;D yes.

For me and IMO for most people, I think we were just reacting to what we saw on the show. However, when the marketing experts started to express the opionion that people were being manipulated to an end result, it made me start to wonder. Q3, maybe TBTB are pulling a fast one. If they are, then all I can say is they are brillaint.

She was the strongest girl after Pia left. Many of the Hayley supporters were Pia supporters first. Idol, as a franchise, can not afford another year with a winner who can not sell. I find Scotty the most marketable. FYI: Eber was the one who took and posted the photo of Adam signing Danielle's butt. She seems to have dropped off twitter after that.

Q3, I am suddenly hearing Adam on the radio daily again. Is this common practice when a new single is about to be released. I heard David Cook quite a bit the last 6 weeks. Adam's songs hold up well on the radio.

The only thing I found 'strange' was Adam reporting/commenting about idol each week, making a point of watching. Tho certainly smart to keep feet in each square.

Nite guys. I miss seeing Adam perform. The interviews and photos are bridging the gap, but every time I watch a performance or listen to a song on the radio, it makes me want to hear Adam's new stuff more. Thank goodness for ATOP and the people here. See you all tomorrow.

I have a tiny inkling of a feeling that Adam has an agenda by heavily promoting her. IMO, she is not really all that exciting, but has the most potential of all the possible contenders. She seems unseasoned and in serious need of some voice lessons to refine her voice. Then, I think she may be impressive. This opinion, of course, is coming from someone whose singing really would make your ears bleed!! Haha......opinions are cheap!! ;D The whole Idol sphere is promoting Haley -- Adam, Kelly, Elliot plus also many writers. I think she is the best of the remaining contestants but has almost no chance of winning. I also wonder why he is promoting her so much. Call me naive, but, ummm, maybe he likes her singing : Must be a nice change for him to express his like for someone without that someone being a friend (thinking about the many friends whose endeavors he's chosen/had to promote)

I think all the tweets and comments from past Idols is because everyone knows, but the judges and Nigel, that the judges are barely judging! Haley has been unfairly criticized almost every week, while far inferior singing gets praised. If you think about all the past seasons, though, I would say veryf ew had the final 2 that were expected, at the beginning of the season. Season 1: was supposed to have Tamyra in the Final. Season 2: probably went as expected. Season 3: no way was Diana DeGarmo supposed to be final 2 Season 4: Bo and Carrie, maybe Season 5: was supposed to be Daughtry and Taylor Season 6: up until Jordin sang "I Who Have Nothing" was seemingly going to be Melinda in the final Season 7: Carly, Michael Johns, and Archie were all being pimped until Cook started rearranging songs so brilliantly! Season 8: was supposed to be Danny and Adam, but Kris snuck in, right around the same timing as Haley is doing it this year! Season 9: Didn't matter. Horrible season! ;D Season 10: If TPTB are suddenly promoting Haley, I'd say it might be because they want Lauren gone. I'm sure she is splitting votes, from Country voters, and I think TPTB want a Scotty win. If Haley eliminates Lauren (Idol already has 2 blonde country stars. They don't need Lauren.) Then all the Country votes go to Scotty. They get their young male country singer. Scotty is probably the only one who can beat James.
