I wonder if it's because the judges have been so bizarre in their feedback this year- over the top positive for some people, inexplicably negative for others (including Haley). The judges are usually weird about somebody, but in the past it has seemed to me that they have a specific agenda which people can typically see through. The agenda doesn't seem as clear this year (I change my mind from week to week about who they are pimping for the finals), the judges aren't judging, and the previous contestants are speaking out. It feels like they think they have to. I don't think Adam, Kelly, Elliot or Melinda Dolittle would speak out for Haley, if they didn't feel she's the most talented contestant left and that she's been unfairly criticized by the judges. Agreed, plus didn't Kris speak up for her too ?

I think all the tweets and comments from past Idols is because everyone knows, but the judges and Nigel, that the judges are barely judging! Haley has been unfairly criticized almost every week, while far inferior singing gets praised. If you think about all the past seasons, though, I would say veryf ew had the final 2 that were expected, at the beginning of the season. Season 1: was supposed to have Tamyra in the Final. Season 2: probably went as expected. Season 3: no way was Diana DeGarmo supposed to be final 2 Season 4: Bo and Carrie, maybe Season 5: was supposed to be Daughtry and Taylor Season 6: up until Jordin sang "I Who Have Nothing" was seemingly going to be Melinda in the final Season 7: Carly, Michael Johns, and Archie were all being pimped until Cook started rearranging songs so brilliantly! Season 8: was supposed to be Danny and Adam, but Kris snuck in, right around the same timing as Haley is doing it this year! Season 9: Didn't matter. Horrible season! ;D Season 10: If TPTB are suddenly promoting Haley, I'd say it might be because they want Lauren gone. I'm sure she is splitting votes, from Country voters, and I think TPTB want a Scotty win. If Haley eliminates Lauren (Idol already has 2 blonde country stars. They don't need Lauren.) Then all the Country votes go to Scotty. They get their young male country singer. Scotty is probably the only one who can beat James. I think James has had the heaviest pimping, (plus Lauren and then ScottY)

They lowered the age limit to find another Bieber and Lauren is as close as they're gonna get this season.

* The lack of judging on AI is weird and is changing the tenor of the show, for me, in a bad way. (For one brief, shining moment JLo actually judged - remember? - then, the next week, gone. I don't get it.)
* I, too, have heard WWFM two days in row now on FM radio after having not heard it for quite a while.
* I don't know what chibis are . . . but Adam as a noseless (and sexless looking) cherub on tippy-toes (?!) does not work for me.
* Oh, dear - was it really Eber who was responsible for that pic of Danielle's rear getting out? That's unfortunate (a little bit funny in a way, but unfortunate).
* I think Haley has the kind of voice and chutzpah Adam admires and that he's been surprised at the lack of judge support - nothing more or less.

just caught up on the thread.... I always feel like I should put a scroll disclaimer so here it is... ______________SCROLL ALERT_________________ 1. the Q102 poll? what a waste of time and energy. meaningless, stupid and clearly just mean to get hits for the stations website. If Adam wins who cares? If Clay wins who cares? at the end of the day this poll means jack squat. ----- 3. I think Adam and Co are endorsing Haley because she's the best singer they've had this season. She's a good performer and she's gotten shit on by the judge's consistently despite her superior vocals. I don't think there is some ulterior motive, especially by RCA artists (Kelly and Adam) to endorse an artist who won't even be signed to the same label. back to your regularly scheduled programming ;D I agree strongly on #1, can't wait until this poll is over. I'm scrolling, scrolling, scrolling a lot here and on twitter. It's interesting how the fandom hive mind works sometimes and puts all their energy into one thing vs. another. But obviously people must find it fun. Hopefully soon it will be done and maybe Aftermath can make the Q102 count-down more often which seems to me a tangible and useful result for Adam and our effort. I do vote and request religiously when there is a benefit. For those who heard FYE on the radio or unexpectedly are hearing other Adam songs played more on the radio, I'm curious as to what station/location? For awhile I requesting Aftermath Remix daily to my local station. Of course they didn't play it, but they did play WWFM or IIHY pretty much every time I requested instead, which they hadn't been doing much before. And am not inside the idol bubble enough to make any judgement on #2 though I sincerely trust Adam means what he says about other artists (even though we don't always share the same tastes).

After Q said that the show makes so much more money than the recording artists it produces, I've been rethinking a lot of things about Idol.
It puts all the weird pimping and emotional back story manipulation in a different light.
Ratings for the show are more important than ensuring that the winner is actually the best singer/performer.

I am in Indiana. My local station is listed Top 40. They advertise "All the hits without the rap". The playlist is more HAC They were slow to play Adam early, but were very supportive later. I heard IIHY on Ryan's syndicated show twice this week. IIHY sounds so good on the radio. It is such a fun song to listen to when the sun is shining. (Still no speeding ticket ;D)
