Kesha was big before Adam met her. "Tic Tok" was massive #1 song, released August 2009 while Adam was still on the Idols Live Tour. RCA put Adam with Kesha as part of their PR effort for the two artists but I also do not believe they were ever friends. He kissed a girl and he liked it, and the papers wrote about it. (Don't) forget about the Rumors, baby  Tove Lo is on a very different path than Adam, and has a totally different attitude. It is great that they did a song together but I can't see them touring together. (Although they both have been known to perform barefoot. ) What Adam and Tove Lo have in common is a relationship with the same producer -- Shellback. If they had not done the song together, would anyone actually put Adam and Tove Lo in the same sentence? Well, if they had posted the same Instagram images while hiking the Runyon Canyon, I am sure we would have mentioned them as friend even if they had not worked together on a song. IMHO. |

Yesterday I had a very nice and surprising experience. I was hiking when suddenly my cell phone notified me of a text message. I checked it out - it was from my boss, on a Sunday! We usually message using an in-house IM system during the week, and I rarely get a text from him on a weekend. Expecting a work-related problem in need of a solution, I read the message.... Imagine my surprise when I read the following: "This song was playing on the radio and we loved it. My heart is a ghost town. And we looked it up and its Adam Lambert". He knows I am obsessed interested in Adam and wanted to share his regular listener experience. He lives in LA, btw. It made my day! |

I have no opinion on whether Adam tours with Tove Lo or not. (And it's difficult to equate them - Adam has more name recognition but I really think Tove currently has more 'cred' with pop audience being the newish Lorde so *shrug*). I'm not sure why we're playing who is Adam really friends with but okay I'll play. Adam appears to be a happy extrovert who likes to expand his social circles when he meets the right people - I don't think he would have a chatty dinner and go hiking with someone he didn't consider at least a lower case f friend. And Adam himself noted that he met her just as she was breaking out and that's accurate. I knew Habits hadn't been a hit in 2013 so checked wiki - not ashamed to admit - it's handy, lol. It was (self?) released in 2013 but rereleased in a serious way in Dec 2013 and then released in U.S. in April (I think) 2014 -- spent weeks climbing charts. So Adam - given he was in Stockholm in early 2014- is telling the truth and getting his dates and locations right - so \o/ for him. |
