aking4fun Michelle RIP Judas. Real time update Judas - 523 (-44) #15 Edge Of Glory - 111 (+111) #40 (#50 for the week so far) I have been reading the latest pages on the pulse music board for Judas. The little monsters are trying to figure out what went wrong with this song. Gaga promised so much for her upcoming album and so far she's not delivering. I also think that Judas is experiencing some of the same problems as FYE, the single. Songs with religious topics are touchy. I'm a little confused here. FYE certainly had no religious connotation. What should Adam focus on? I agree it just needs to be the music and the voice. Lately, I've been listening (being Adam deprived) to the 'album that cannot be named' - and his voice just captures me. If I hear his voice; and the emotion therein, I will be taken. I don't try to understand other music listeners, others who love Gaga or Bieber or JLo or Katy or Ke$ha. I like BTW as a dance; but it doesn't inspire me. I just know when I'm taken; and if Adam sings from his heart and gut - and he will, he will - I have nothing short of ecstasy to imagine in my musical future. Adam just needs to focus on delivering good music. He has got to capture the ears and the hearts of the music listener or it ain't gonna be pretty. I hope he just trust his gut on what is good. So far, whenever he has done that, the music has been good. Unfortunately, he has to balance the lyrics more than most pop artists. He has learned a lot since releasing FYE. I think he will use this knowledge and experience wisely.

General rule for stabilizing ones blood pressure: NEVER read the comments!! LOL Seriously though, I will never understand the ignorance of closed-minded people. Why can't they just understand that not all people believe that the Bible is the word of God and many don't even believe in God or the one they believe in. Plus, those who do follow the Bible, don't always interpret it in the same way. It really is quite simple: Believe what YOU believe and apply it to YOUR life. What I can't understand is why they even seek out these vids to begin with to spew their vile. Today I had a free day and I justed started reading different articles on different singers and actors. Bieber, even get vile spewn at him. Gaga gets a lot of it. Even favorites like JT get shit thrown at them. Apparently no one is immune to it all, no matter who you are. There just simply exists some very ignorant people. There is always a last vicious fight in the culture wars right before the opposition caves (I'm thinking about desegregation, civil rights laws, treatment of women in some traditional cultures, etc.). It's when they fight back the hardest and the meanest that you know you are winning, because otherwise they wouldn't bother, but they feel their world-view slipping into obscurity and are trying to hold onto the past by digging in their claws. Look at the names you posted. Only those who are extremely successful and are a bit pioneering in some way (even if it's only in the rapidity of their success) are get this amount of hate. It's an acknowledgement of their power, just like it's an acknowledgement of the power/visibility of the It's Get Better Campaign.

I thought I saw Chris Brown mentioned too.. and JLO? biggest results show in 5 yrs blah, blah, blah. I coul do without Chris Brown and JLo. I resent she is using AI to reinvent her career. She's not that talented. I actually think JLo is very talented and that she's a triple threat! :-/

I knew a song with such strong religious references would never work. Gaga is a high risk/high payoff type artist. Sometimes it works to the tune of 51 million singles sold, sometimes it doesn't. Judas peaked at #15 and the video is still #1. She currently has three songs in the iTunes top 15. (which is not bad :D) Judas will still go platinum and sell a ton of downloads in other countries as well. The truth is people are just freaky about religion. The same types of freak outs by the white, Christian, conservative PDs and DJs are probably at play, just like they were with FYE. Adam definitely made a mistake with FYE, and he has made statements that he learned from his missteps. Adam just needs to stay far away from the S&M songs, or at least, don't release them as singles! LOL

LOL But aren't you kind of contradicting yourself by saying that Adam needs to stay away from that but it's okay for Gaga to put out the types of videos she does ? Which to me are much more risque than anyhting Adam did ? : Interesting discussion though...

I apologize for messing up my reply - it ended up in the middle of readon's quote. Sorry. After all this time - still learning. :-/ I need to clarify because I can see that the way I posted this was confusing. When I posted that Gaga is having the same problems as FYE the single, I meant it is a lyric content problem. Relgious themes are a touchy subject. S&M for a male is a touchy subject. S&M theme did not seem to be a problem for Rihanna. It seems that as long as the female is the dominant, S&M is tolerated. Male as dominant seems to make people uncomfortable. Religion is always touchy. IMO, the song lyrics of Judas with the dancy beat might have allowed this Gaga single to do well on the radio. However, the video with the song lyrics was a misstep by Gaga. Regardless of whether you believe in the religion, it is expected that you will respect other peoples beliefs. I think the video crossed a line that makes it difficult for PDs to feel comfortable playing it to their audiences. As we have seen, radio is more conservative than film or television.
