The guys at DDD have finally started talking about Adam's singing again. They are posting YTs of favorite performances and highlighting portions that are outstanding. If you are interested, go to www.digitaldreamdoor.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=568&start=1725Ignore the crass little boy attempts at humor in the first page or two and focus on the songs they post. Good stuff there.

It's interesting to read the last couple of pages here, because as I was driving today, I thought of an album title for Adam #2. I had to pull away from the "realness" theme, because it wasn't inspiring me, LOL. So I started to think about the journey Adam has been on, and how much he has talked about change and growth. Also thought of his "sacred lack of reality giving me new perspective" tweet a while back. And most of all, I was thinking of all the trials and "gates" he's gone through, and the scrutiny he's been under, and the judgment that has been levelled at him. Not to mention all the hate directed his way, just because he is who he is. Not to be all melodramatic, just being real. So I thought of the title-- Stations On My WayAnd yeah, definitely a religious reference there, not only because it's apt, but also it's pretty current in pop music. And of course, it would be controversial, and it wouldn't be Adam if it didn't stir the pot, right? But also I was thinking of all the radio stations Adam visited while on promo and on the tour, lol, so there's that meaning as well. And he definitely needs stations to play him, in order to "be on his way" to success... And lest you think my angst bias is showing, but he could also do something really funky and cool and optimistic for the cover. Like, maybe a photo of him standing barefoot in leather pants and a hippie-style top, hitchhiking on a highway. #Realness Okay, that concludes my dissertation. I love you dissertation. ;D And you title, but are you trying to kill us with that album cover imagery Part of your Adam quote might make a good title too "Sacred Lack of Reality" For anyone interested on the back story with the Uganda Kill the Gay bill, Rachel Maddow(love her!) has been doing a great series of shows which traces this bill's origins back to some of our very own congressmen and Senators. Very disturbing. www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/#34283419One more thing. Did anyone else find it funny that rcaed was bemoaning the fact that no one could keep a secret and the proceeds to let the cat out of the bag that the behind the scene footage will be coming out much soon than anyone imagined? 8-)

And, speaking of other sites, Juneau and Xena are going to be doing a beginner's guide to the best of Adam Lambert on their radio show Wednesday. This could be a good reference for you when people who are unaware of Adam ask what the big deal is. They are asking for suggestions. This is what I posted, but it is not on the site yet.... waiting for moderation, it says. Guess it has to be approved. Come to Me, Bend to Me –the voice is pure heaven, the technique flawless, the emotion palpable, and the instrumentation sparse so the voice is front and center. 200% proof of the extraordinary voice. WWL – fantasy springs. Need I say why? Feeling Good – live or studio. Recognized by many vocalists to be one of his best. Shows range, diversity, power, interpretation, technique. Can’t Let You Go — big rock song with insane technique. Don’t know another singer out there who can sing that high and powerfully while singing actual WORDS. The few who can hit those notes do it with an open vowel sound, but can’t articulate lyrics. Also shows range of emotion from beginning to end. My Conviction — for the “Shit! That can’t be Adam Lambert, can it???” factor Ring of Fire — for originality of arrangement, turning a song on its head, blowing our minds and also, again, the technique behind it is extraordinary. Who sings like that? Very difficult to execute. Heaven on their Minds — rated by the rock guys at DDD as his best live performance. Mad World — Idol live or studio. It’s the one he was most known for on the show, and the one that won him many new fans Soaked — live acoustic. Often cited as having almost operatic vocals. Dynamic range great. Great emotional content. Sleepwalker – Leno, or possibly Brisbane, which many fans consider the best version from his tour. Fierce. Wide range. Great emotional range. Cassie: Has DDD rated or analyzed Durbin's voice or his performances on AI? Please tell me they think he is one, hot (out of tune) mess! : True. Judas was already dropping before the video, so the drop wasn't caused by the release. In fact, Judas has been climbing the itunes charts since the mv was released. Now, whether or not the general listening public is offended by the religious meaning is another story... I suspect that is a major problem, but we will never know. (unless Gaga shares the feedback the song received from the radio stations) Yep. UMG will release another album track to itunes on May 16. It's the same marketing strategy that has been used with Katy Perry, BEPs and Taylor Swift. Gaga has 3 songs in the top 15 on itunes at this time.

Q3:ITA. My apathy about "Judas" has nothing to do with the religious themes (I'm not religious, but I love religious iconography, Bible lore, etc.). If Judas was particularly listenable, I'd probably love it for the themes she plays with. But other than sounding like a compilation of three of her other songs, it does nothing for me. I don't even HEAR the evocative lyrics. And, I'm sorry, but the forced expansion of one syllable into three (or is that four?) grates on my nerves. Ju-da-a-as That seems so lazy. Like when you're a little kid and you are trying to make up lyrics and you can't in time so you stretch one syllable out forever ... BTW, I saw Melisende's tweet to Billboard; yes, fail on them for leaving Adam's name off, but we are encouraged to add anyone we want and vote more than once. www.billboard.com/features/Billboard-Music-Awards-Fan-Favorite-Award-1005174942.story#/features/Billboard-Music-Awards-Fan-Favorite-Award-1005174942.story

Please tell me they think he is one, hot (out of tune) mess! : They have an Idol thread up, and I just scanned it for Durbin references. The general opinion is that he has some chops but is inconsistent in his control and pitch. High notes are not always pleasant. No one is really comparing him to Adam except for one BSC Adam fangirl who gets on everyone's nerves.

Just a comment on singles strategy -- Adam's promotion will be better staged this cycle because Adam and RCA know what sells for him and where to draw the line on content/genre, and they have more time. The ideal situation is that he has another strong, long-lived single like WWFM and IIHY that appeals to pop music listeners not just fans. Then released a second single in November a couple of weeks before the album drops. It is really unlikely that Adam will have a 2XP single -- they are rare. I would be very, very happy with a strong single that makes BBoard Top 10. ETA: Regarding Judas and religious controversy --- the religious controversy looks like a PR stunt that didn't work. The only upset person is Lady Gaga who just got a yawn from even the religious right. And USA Today --- May 06, 2011 Will Lady Gaga's Judas video fail to outrage religious leaders? (the answer is YES) Link: content.usatoday.com/communities/Religion/post/2011/05/lady-gaga-judas-video-religious-outrage/1?csp=34

Hi Cassie, Some of these I have not heard! Unbelievable! Specifically Heaven on their Minds and My Conviction. Do you have links? I LOVE Come to Me, Bend to Me. It blows my mind every time. Thanks! Be prepared to be blown away. Here is my conviction. Only audio. I would kill to have video too! And, he is not singing in falsetto. He is singing full head voice. Can't think of any other singer who can do what he does with this song. Heaven on their Minds: Listen and you will understand why Adam wants to play Judas in that show. Hmmm, Judas. This song does that name justice. Sorry Gaga.
