Bottom line is I am here for Adam. I will support his friends if they have a product that I like, but I don't feel that I owe any debt to them. ^^^^THIS^^^^ And the thing is, is that I personally don't like Monte's 'product'. Yes, i think he is an awesome guitar player and he was an integral part of the dynamic of the GNT, but I have never been a fan of the CV stuff. I can remember kinda wincing when Monte said he would be submitting songs for #2 and thinking ooh forgive me, but I hope they don't make it on. Adam has already fast forwarded Monte's career more in the last year than Madonna did in ten. It has often crossed my mind in this time and wondered how many of Madonna's fans even know who her guitarist's name is? and they probably don't care for that matter. I still love Monte as part of the glamily and do wish him all the best in his personal career as well, but the rest of the steps on the ladder upwards need to be taken by him - if he is hungry enough. IMO & YMMV You wrote the post that was in my head, but hadn't come out my fingers yet. And NoAngel's points are well taken, too. Business is business. As long as Adam is not intentionally screwing someone else just for the purpose of screwing them over, he should make the career decisions that he thinks are right for him. How many of us would hire someone for a position with our company just because they are our friend, and not because they are the most qualified for the job? Or how many of us who are teachers would give preferential treatment to a student who happened to be a personal friend, or the child of a friend? I have faced both those scenarios multiple times in my career, and it always comes down to hiring the right person for the job, and awarding the best grades to the students who have earned them. Friendship does not have a place in such decisions. Nor do friends' spouses or family.

Yeah, didn't Monte say in some interview a while back that he was writing/submitting songs for Adam#2? Maybe Adam rejected them all? If that's the case, again, I go back to my mantra-- I'm here for Adam. If he doesn't feel something is right for him and his career, I hope he always feels fine to do what he thinks is best. Sorry, but it makes no sense for Adam to put something on his record unless it's top-notch and fits his vision. Anyone in the biz should know that. Oh I agree, but at the same time (playing a bit of devil's advocate here), I also feel for Monte. Monty has worked for even more years than Adam, and what has that gotten him? YEARS of backing Madonna hasn't given him much, if any, name recognition and it hasn't made him rich. Backing Adam has given him more name recognition, but any profits on the tour go to Adam. Monty's a contractor. The Citizen Vein stuff is a PARTNERSHIP. Him and Adam. 50/50. Both for the writing and for the performing. Anything they write together for Adam #2 is a partnership. Equal profits for songwriting. If Adam doesn't select Monty's songs, or doesn't want to release Citizen Vein material, Monty can't get any credit or profits. He's just back to being a contractor. No matter how much he may love Adam as a friend, that situation must chafe. Monte is forced to watch the fruits of his labor and creativity swing on the decisions of someone else. Monty can't push anything without Adam. And Adam isn't likely to make decisions based on Monty's desires. If I was Monty's wife, watching my husband's disappointment, I'd probably be frustrated and disappointed too. That said, expressing that frustration on Twitter....bad move. I get what you are saying, but given that this album is so crucial to Adam and if he doesn't want to go in the direction Monte wants to go in, should he possibly jeopardize his beliefs to please a friend ? Hasn't he done enough already ? Sorry, but if a friend demands that of one, they are not truly a friend IMO. Adam's coat tails are ridiculously wide, carrying a lot of his friends and family, BUT entitlement is not sexy , in friends as well as fans!

*wipes eyes* - so presh. I can't believe how much these two Kiwi brothers, Liam and Aidan, love Adam. Liam's weekly Adam radio show is such a hit. What an awesome family \o/ And what's really weird for me is that after two years of watching fan vids from around the world, this one was probably shot not far from where I live. Makes me all 'squishy"

@adamlambert Adam Lambert Snapshot from my Club Kid Days say.ly/VAPjK32 minutes ago via WhoSay Awww...he's using himself as bait to change the subject. I'll bite. Although I realize things worked out as they needed to, I sometimes wish we could have seen what Adam would have done with fame during this period of his life. Those are magical years where you're exploring everything with such wide eyed optimism. He's probably much better off as a human being for the years spent out of the spotlight, but just for kicks it's fun to imagine. As you can tell from my avi, I love club kid/Burning Man Adam.

Just a gut feeling, but if this is a falling out with Monte, I bet it isn't about not attending a gig, but possibly Monte's participation with either playing or writing with Adam on Adam #2. Now that could be it. I don't really like Monte's songwriting or styling. I could see that might cause a real problem, and that would be a shame. :-/ :-/
