I am so proud of you, Mayumi. Just think of all the others in the church this morning who saw your brave move and wish they could have had the courage to do the same.And the example you are showing for your son is bringing new hope into this world. I, as a Catholic,am glad that not all congregations are hearing this message from their pulpits. I choose to follow the loving and inclusive words of Pope Francis--and I'm happy to say that not all Catholics,{clergy and lay people} accept this rhetoric of hate and bigotry.
I also like to think that there may have been a gay person who saw your act of courage in church today and was heartened and thankful--and maybe felt a glimpse of hope and acceptance. You are my hero, dear,lady. XO

This is not the Sunday Official chart. That will happen around 5-6 Pacific time. GT should be #29 for the week. Yes, it is down a place but the spins and bullet are up! It has been a very weird chart, all week. To answer the question about TORI KELLEY, her first song did very well, got to the mid teens, so her 2nd song got a lot of adds & immediate spins. Is Tori's first song Nobody Love? Because although it was 16 on pop, it was only 60 on the Hot 100 and the only certification was in New Zealand for gold. Didn't Adam's WWFM and IIHY do way better than that? I still don't get it. If you want in depth discussion on radio performance and chart numbers and such this needs to go to the numbers thread. In short the difference is WWFM & IIHY were 5 years ago and radio is very much what have you done lately. #60 on Hot 100 is decent performance for a new artist and to be frank we have no idea and will never have any idea what kind of you scratch my back I scratch yours deals happen that cause these quick jumps in radio play. The only ones we know about up front are those iheart promo deals that get 1 spin an hour like the Selena Gomez song is getting. If you want to discuss this more ask in the numbers thread. |

GT was passed by some songs that have super promo going right now. The Selena Gomez song blew past everybody and the new Tori Kelly single is flying up the chart. This is to be expected. GT managed to stay ahead of the Sam Hunt song that has been threatening all week so I call that good. OT, but I am not sure why the Tori Kelly single is flying up the chart. According to kworb, that song is not charting on itunes (he has a -- in that column). I can understand Taylor, M5, etc. flying up the charts based on the past even though I consider many of their songs what Boy George called "fart on a loop". I hate both their current singles. Is Tori a proven hit-maker? I've never heard of her until recently when I heard she was on Idol. Just did some googling and saw she was an On The Verge artist on her first single but that single was not a smash. Anyway, just wondering why Adam is not accepted on pop radio with open arms when others are. I wouldn't say she was flying up the charts. Not like Selena, The Weekend, Maroon V etc. But she did pass GT this weekend. Adam is on a comeback. GT is doing very well. I have been calling it the little Ghost Town train that could. This is the first week it will lose a position or two but as Q3 said, it is still building spins. And if all goes well today, it will stay in the top 30 on CHR with some songs above it losing steam. Hopefully next week will be another rise. |
