I am sure everyone will be thrilled to know that the "official" mediabase weekly published report shows GT moving from: 21 to 18 in HAC
This is the first official top 20 placement in a published report radio format so congrats to GT and all the fans that tweeted and pleaded for spins. With everyone's energy and help, the 2 spins on SNOL help GT maintain its position in the top 30 for CHR/Top40 at 29 which is only down one position so essentially the same but with spins still increasing and that is very important. So it was good news ending the week and good momentum coming into this week. On AC, GT went from 43 to 35 - so within the top 40 there as well WOOHOO!!!

Today I did something I thought I would never have the courage to do - walk out of my church during homily. The priest was on a rant about the Supreme Court ruling and used the same old tired arguments why this is so wrong, that gay couples could not raise families and that I cannot be a Catholic if I accept this ruling and that I am living in the dark. Ok then, if I cannot be considered a Catholic then I am out of here. We were seated on the second pew so we were very visible when my son and I walked out. And you know what? I never felt so FREE! I can still believe in my God but not in the confines of this very narrow-minded religion. As a member of a very devout Catholic family, I am sure this will not be acceptable but so be it! I stick to my decision. FREE at last and so happy for my brothers and sisters in the gay community! Mayumi - I haven't posted in forever (just a lurker here LOL!) but was catching up on all the great Adam news today and saw this post and it both inspired me and brought back some difficult memories of a similar situation I was involved in many years ago. Back in 2004 near the end of the very intense George W. Bush vs. John Kerry election, the church I belonged to (Presbyterian) changed pastors and a new young pastor took over and you could tell immediately that he was very politically oriented. There were little comments here and there (voting hints...) and finally during one sermon right before Election Day he just outright preached "God is a Republican" and many of the church members including the elders started cheering and that was it for me. I spoke up and said "no - God isn't a politician - he doesn't choose sides!" then I got up and walked out and I never came back. Not sure what part of the country you live in but I live in a very conservative southern town. On election day back then there were people out with signs stating "vote Democrat and you are going straight to Hell". Even now our country still has a long way to go but the Supreme Court decision this week was a big step in the right direction. On a personal note - I am so impressed by how you stood up for your beliefs today - and as others have said you will inspire others to do the same.

I have never felt such hatred, it was oppressive.
Love conquers all.

I stick to my decision. FREE at last and so happy for my brothers and sisters in the gay community! Catching up on this thread after a long day of traveling. I was raised R. Catholic including attendance at 9 years of parochial grade school and 4 years of an all female high school. I moved over to the Episcopal church about 25 years ago. Today, I attended a Sunday service celebrating the Supreme Court decision as a highlight of the week. Recently, I had a 40 year high school reunion. One of the women came right out to say she never expected to be married to a priest. And, that Episcopal priest is a woman, and they are raising two children together. No one in my high school class objected to our classmate's happiness. It annoyed me no end the past few days with the politicians going on about the affront to the religious. I just kind of wish I still participated in Republican politics at the local level, so I could walk out of the next "conservative values" demagoguery. Mayumi I have no words for how proud I feel for what you did today. It is something that takes a lot of courage. donnamb I love your story and can relate to it. I was also raised as a Catholic from a very religious family. I left the Catholic Church many years ago because I could not reconcile my own commitment to equality and justice with the views of the Church, but my family is still very Catholic, very conservative and very Republican. I am a progressive, reformed Jew now. My family and I respect each other -- but I avoid any political discussions. But even the most conservative members of my family support LBGT equality. I think the Catholic Church is in for some interesting times.

Mayumi, your action today took guts. I hope you can find some peace in your religion.
I've been reading at various news sites today with reader comments, some wise but others vindictive of all Christians. I'd just like to remind us that there are many Christians who embrace homosexuality. I'm not religious at all but was raised in the United Church of Christ (Congregational), which was very liberal and accepting. My parents met in seminary and insisted that we went to church as kids. I only remember caring and love for all types of people there. My dad is now Quaker, and they embrace their LGBT members, even having "weddings" before they were legal. When I hear Christians saying homosexuality is a sin, I am sad (and rather surprised) that they don't realize not all Christians agree with them.
With that, I'll turn in for the night and celebrate the nice numbers for GT.

Well I got it from Twitter, of course...LOL. Let me see if I can track it down. Wonder if the Miami show and the Casino show are warm ups for the set in Australia. I think Adam is already warmed up! Adam said he was going to being promotion TOH until the end of the year. So I expect these 3 events are the tip of iceberg. 3ku1 I would not be surprised if he was going to Asia, NZ and AU. I know where he is not coming -- Ohio or Mississippi. He keeps flying right over me!

I love what you said to the congregation, stormchaser--"God isn't a politician." Reminds me of the very wise words of Susan B. Anthony: "I distrust those people who know so well what God wants them to do, because I notice it always coincides with their own desires."

Anyone see that tweet from a top 40 guy interviewing Adam. Hollywood Hamilton @hollyhamy 13h13 hours ago @wtop30 He's thinking it might be "Evil in the Night", not sure yet to he gets more feedback from fans... If it's feedback that Adam wants, then I hope that enough of us shout from the rooftops that the next single has to be The Original High! It just makes sense on so many levels. Evil in the Night is great fun, but feels slightly repetitious after multiple playings, and I just don't see it catching the popular imagination like TOH. (It's also a little long.) TOH is like Ghost Town in that it leaves you wanting more---it never outstays its welcome, and (like GT) is quite different from anything else out there. It's also perfectly constructed, and---unlike EITN---features a thrilling climax. Great music, great lyrics, and a terrific piece of singing; what more could anyone want from a single? I'm with Eber on this one I Agree completely w/ everything you have said about TOH, only thing left out was that it references summer in the song many many times & has a summer feel to it as well. I'm afraid if it's not released now then it would have to wait until next summer or might not be released at all. Evil in the Night would be a great fall song, however would rather ALN instead w/ the "moos" taken out. I feel ALN is a better radio hit but EITN is more exciting when he performs it; a few ppl have touched on this after that KTEuphoria NJ concert, I agreed 100%. When Adam asked me personally when I met him a few days ago (got lucky seeing him in parking lot after he was leaving 106.5 interview in BAlt. ) what song was my favorite I told him "all of them, but no seriously TOH." I think he really is torn on which one it should be.
