That is always the weird thing though. You read the criteria for Music that is eligible for a Grammy. It is based on critical acclaim. But most always, commercial acclaim is just as important as Critical Acclaim. So for Adam to have a shot at a Grammy, GT well need to peak some where in Top 30 BB Hot 100, I guess. I think the Album is worthy of a Grammy, but I think commercial success well determine that. Taylor is a lock in for Pop Album of the year. 2017 Grammys maybe? TOH will not be eligible for 2017. But a track released after the deadline for 2016 could be. I wonder if they will try to hold the title track so it would be Grammy eligible for the following year. TOH (track) is already released. All the tracks are released -- so nothing to hold back unless they are hiding some secret tracks. In any case, labels plan releases based on maximizing commericial return not to win Grammys. Grammy nominations are hard to predict -- there are so many submissions (20,000+ expected this year) -- and harder to influence (about 15,000 eligible voters). Here is a really good description of how the Grammy screening, nominating and voting process works. It will give you an idea of why famous people win most of the awards and how music quality does not always seem to be part of the whole thing. www.complex.com/music/2014/01/how-does-grammy-voting-work

But I know very very little!

Seems to me like it was designed to do exactly what it did - create controversy and get people to watch it to see what all the fuss is about. Not sure creative intent came into the calculation at all. I can't watch it. It says the video is restricted because of my age.?!?!?!?!? How does it know how old I am. If I'm not old enough to view it, no one is. When you're at the mega-top like Rihanna is you can produce any video you want and it will get tons of attention. That's one of the many perks of being one of the superstars. People will pay attention, give it hits, buy the music, and even tut-tut about it, but she will never suffer any loss of popularity or sales or status. That's stardom for you.

For the record taking TOH, ALN, EITN aside. I absolutely love Things I diddn't say. That could be a potential radio single. For now though really be cool if GT becomes a hit. Then Adam can experiement a bit more on the second single. TOH is still my fav track off the album though. Theirs a reason why the superstars are the superstars. Katy, Swift, Timberlake, Rhianna e.t.c. They give the people what the people want. Right now Adams at hit mentality, so all energy needs to be put into GT.

But the album can only be nominated for this one coming up, 2016!

So if the single TOH is released after the cut off for 2016 and the album TOH does not win a grammy in 2016, the TOH single could still be nominated for 2017 or any other single released after the 2016 cut off could as well.

Yes, here is the rule: ."Tracks from a previous year's album may be entered provided the track was not entered the previous year and provided the album did not win a GRAMMY."

Most likely commercial success. In any case like said, a Dance Category is opened up their. Best Dance Recording could be a realistic option. Last years nominees were; Basement Jaxx, Disclosure, Duke Dermont, Clean Bandit won. I actually think TOH could be a possible nominee in this category. Although that is a long way off.
