For the record taking TOH, ALN, EITN aside. I absolutely love Things I diddn't say. That could be a potential radio single. For now though really be cool if GT becomes a hit. Then Adam can experiement a bit more on the second single. TOH is still my fav track off the album though. Theirs a reason why the superstars are the superstars. Katy, Swift, Timberlake, Rhianna e.t.c. They give the people what the people want. Right now Adams at hit mentality, so all energy needs to be put into GT. it is in my Top 6 favorites from the album! The chorus is an earworm! I agree! I have that chorus in my head all the time.

I think the way it works is if the album does not win a Grammy, then tracks can be nominated in subsequent years. Usually single release week. But the album can only be nominated for this one coming up, 2016! So you think TOH being nominated for album of the year is dependent of sales clearly, but also single hits. Most likely commercial success. In any case like said, a Dance Category is opened up their. Best Dance Recording could be a realistic option. Last years nominees were; Basement Jaxx, Disclosure, Duke Dermont, Clean Bandit won. I actually think TOH could be a possible nominee in this category. Although that is a long way off. I definitely do not think album sales are important for the nominations. But a few VERY successful singles definitely helps. •Morning Phase, Beck Just Sayin!

The talk about Adam being up for a Grammy is making me upset.. Somehow so much talk seems to be about winning ,winning, winning.. I just want to enjoy Adam's music without feeling like I'm attending a horserace..
I find myself getting tuned out and turned off. Need to take a break from this constant competition talk..
Whatever happened to listening to wonderful songs because they make folks feel, not because they came in at #1..
The bar is being set so high ,while music sales are in the pits.. Only the most popular or some song that just gets to people, are selling a a lot.
The goal for high sales, not a music's worth, seems to be the only thing that matters. So I am going back to not watching the charts or wishing for
Grammy nods to simply listening and loving Adam's TOH.

So I am going back to not watching the charts or wishing for Grammy nods to simply listening and loving Adam's TOH.Want to join me? I'm with you there. It is a trap for me that I find myself repeatedly falling into. I so want Adam to succeed above and beyond even his loftiest dreams. I want the world to embrace him. I start looking for evidence of widespread recognition of his talent by watching numbers, reading tweets, reading online celebrity gossip sites, and listening to top 40 radio. Nothing wrong with that if those are activities that I enjoy. ... But I don't. I've repeatedly given pop/top 40 a try, but it doesn't appeal. Not vocally, musically, lyrically, or thematically. When I give up, switch off my radio, and turn on my iPod to other music, I swear my blood pressure goes down 20 points. A smile spreads across my face, and I ask myself why I waste my ears on stuff just because I want to compare what's currently popular with what Adam is doing. The many things I love about Adam's voice and interpretive and performance ability are not things that are valued for top 40 music. Therefore, I should not be looking for validation of Adam's artistry thru sales and radio play numbers. Or Grammy nominations. Or click bait popularity polls. It feels like high school all over again. And I was miserable in high school because I didn't fit in. Why do I try, at my ripe old age, to fit in to top 40 pop music now? Why do I care what numbers One Direction or Taylor Swift are pulling down? I'm just making myself restive and disturbed. I don't blame the Glamberts in general or the folks on ATop in specific for being passionately interested in the numbers and the pop world Adam is wrapped up in. For them, it is lots of fun. Go for it! Now, excuse me while I go watch a QAL concert and listen to WWTLF one more time. Then flip over to some jazz, celtic or classical music. Diversity makes the world go round.

So I am going back to not watching the charts or wishing for Grammy nods to simply listening and loving Adam's TOH. Kind of similar direction to what I was thinking. What pressure are we putting on Adam, to think that nothing but the no 1 is good enough? Not only do I think that such pressure is unreasonable to be put on any human being, the thought has also occurred to me, that maybe this is not really so much Adam's goal, but more ours, because we as fans would like to see him more validated, or want that 'told-ya-so' moment, and that would just not be fair to him. To make it clear: I want all the validation in the world for Adam, I just also feel, I need to leave this one in the hands of fate, who somehow seems to look out for Adam, when it is important, but does not seem to send him straight to over-the-moon triumphant glory, for some reason. Seems like, lots of people out there are still stuck in some 'guyliner' phase when it comes to Adam, when the reality is, that he has long since moved on. People are not paying attention to detail, I suppose, they have something from the past in their head and keep it there. He needs to wake them up and touch them, one by one, with his music, move them, bring them around to him. It will take time, this is just the first single. And furthermore, while Adam seems right now quite content to tone it down, who is to say, that tomorrow he does not start some other phase, that will be more out there again, because that is what he feels like. I am sure we would all support him no matter what, but not everybody might. If certain people can only accept him, when he tones everything down, they might tbh as well stay away, because they won't stick around. And if this is what it takes, then maybe the top spot on charts and Grammys and other measurement poles is just not right to project onto Adam. His path, as an artist, is one that seeks artistic integrity in balance with commercial success. So why focus on just number goals only? What I am saying is not that I don't want the best for him and try to help him get there. It is just that I don't feel a need to pressure him or ourselves in unreasonable ways. Just enjoying the ride and trying to take in as much as I can. Bit by bit the numbers will follow, maybe when we least expect it. He is doing fine, he is gaining new fans, millions are streaming his music, and discovering him. YMMV. ============================================================== While we are on 'taking it all in', I started listening to the playlist that Adam has put together for us, and I am wondering about the 'Lay Me Down' - version that he uses here? It's not the regular one, we are familiar with. Anybody know which version this is? Does not sound like a remix to me, but does not sound like Adam either. Wonder why Adam chose it? Is this about Avicii's tendency to not give the singer credit? Just wondering? Anyone familiar with this version? Thanks.

You know I look at this way. Adam likes pop, and I like Adam. for me to get more Adam he needs to make it big (and he is right now) so I will play all the silly pop games, punch up buttons, vote and thank radio stations nicely for playing some real music. but you can't make me like Rumours. heresy I know AND I will burn for it.
